“Is Xylia at the GF Medical Center? Good riddance. If she had stayed, the hospital would’ve collapsed sooner or later.”
“Dr. Robinett, she was just some talentless hack who got in through connections. This time is no different -she’s obviously relying on connections again.
“Dr. Robinet, when is Dr. Zink coming back?”
Greg’s expression was dark. At the question, he hesitated before replying. “Another half a month, maybe.”
“That’s taking too long! That insolent Xylia is clearly trying to undermine us. Let’s go there today and see exactly what she’s doing for those patients.
Greg forced a smile. “Conveniently, I have an old friend at the hospital. I’ll contact him now.”
“This demonstrates the value of our director’s connections. I investigated the doctors at that place. They’re all highly educated and experienced. If there’s any fraud happening, Xylia is undoubtedly the culprit.”
The doctors acted quickly. They had initially traveled to the capital to visit a research institute and share knowledge. However, they now chose to make a direct detour to GF Medical Center.
Since they had made arrangements beforehand, they entered without obstruction. The hospital lobby was. bustling with patients.
“Dr. Christopher!”
A patient recognized one of the doctors. He was a young man with severe acne, the kind that had stubbornly resisted every treatment he had tried.
But now, his skin was visibly clearer, and the large pores on his face were much less noticeable. His entire, demeanor was brighter, revealing the features of a once–confident young man.
“What are you doing here?” Dr. Christopher’s face darkened.
Completely unaware of Christopher’s growing displeasure, the acne–covered young man scratched his head, a sheepish grin on his face. He enthusiastically recounted his progress. “My face was never this good before. My girlfriend even broke up with me over it. I went to Brighton Central Hospital with you, but it didn’t really do anything. A friend recommended this hospital, so I gave it a try. Now, it’s so much better! Dr. Watson said, I’ll be fully cured in a month.”
Dr. Watson? Which Dr. Watson?”
The young man looked at him strangely. “There’s only one Dr. Watson at GF Medical Center–Xylia Watson
“She cured you? Did she personally diagnose and treat you? Are you sure another doctor didn’t come up with the treatment, and she just took credit for it?” Dr. Christopher asked, unable to believe it.
The young man scoffed. “It was her. She’s incredibly talented and beautiful. I even started a patient support group, and her results are consistently the best I was fortunate to get an appointment with her.
“I have to go catch home now. See
my train you. He rushed off, leaving the doctors exchanging

“I remember this patient, We had trouble figuring out his case. Initially, we thought it was just folliculitis. but after trying countless treatments, nothing worked. He had no underlying health conditions, no inflammation… How did Xylia figure it out?”
“T’ll ask him for his medical records later. Dr. Christopher’s expression soured. He had always looked down on Xylia, but now, he was genuinely curious about the treatment she had prescribed.
It felt like they had been solving a complex math problem for ages, and before they even got close to the answer. Xylia had already turned in a perfect score.
“Where is Dr. Watson?” A patient at the front desk asked.
The nurse replied politely, “Second floor, first office across from the elevator.”
The patient’s face was wrapped in bandages, with visible burns on other parts of her body as well
The visiting doctors exchanged glances but remained silent, following the patient upstairs.
From a short distance away, they listened as the woman inside the office spoke in a calm, reassuring tone. “Your wounds are healing well. Fortunately, you managed to avoid more serious damage. You will be able to regain your original appearance. Remember to take your medication on time and follow the dietary restrictions I mentioned before.”
Thank you, doctor! Thank you so much!” The female patient’s eyes welled up with tears.
At that moment, the office door was suddenly thrown open, and a group of doctors barged in.
The patient, who had just started rewrapping her bandages, was startled by the intrusion. “That face is ruined. There’s no way it’ll heal without plastic surgery
The patient’s expression immediately turned anxious
“This is tragic. You shouldn’t let yourself be deceived. We’ve been doctors for over 20 years. There’s no saving your face–you should go to a cosmetic surgery clinic as soon as possible. I actually know a great plastic surgery hospital. Here, take this card. Dr. Christopher shoved a business card into the patient’s
hands.
Xylia’s face turned cold. “Shadow–1, Shadow–21
Two figures swiftly entered and forcefully pushed the group of doctors back into the hallway. A few who were slow to react stumbled and fell, making the so–called medical experts look thoroughly disheveled.
The intruders were livid.
“Everyone, look! Dr. Watson is deceiving patients!”
This patient’s condition is irreversible. It’s not life–threatening, so why is she lying to her?”
“If they can’t actually heal her, they should just be honest! This is nothing but a scam to take patients money!
People in the waiting area started whispering among themselves.
The female burn victin shrank back. frightened by the sudden commotion. Her bandaged face was now fully exposed to the crowd.

It was a horrifying sight–her skin was covered in scars some areas were still raw, and some had already
scabbed over.
“Wait… can that really heal?”
“I’ve heard Dr. Watson is really skilled but burns this severe… That does seem impossible.”
“If it’s not a fatal condition, why lie? When she realizes he can’t be cured, how devastated will she be?”
“This is just doctors trying to milk money from patients. The longer they treat her, the more they earn. What else can we do besides trust them?”
This is cruel. If she needs plastic surgery, just say so. Why waste her time?”
Hearing their words, the female patient’s pale face became even more ashen.
Her hands clenched into tight fists, and the hopeful light in her eyes started to fade.
Dr. Christopher smirked. “Xylia, why don’t you reveal the truth to everyone? It’s fortunate we came today. -who knows how long you would’ve continued this charade? Your supposed medical skills only deceive the most gullible patients.”
His words sent ripples of doubt through the crowd.
Even those who were receiving treatment or had already improved began second–guessing their progress.
Xylia pressed her lips together, her anger boiling over. But when she spoke, her voice remained calm. “I am not deceiving anyone. What I said is the truth. You don’t need to listen to them.”
Dr. Christopher scoffed. “I have been a doctor for over 20 years. I’ve cured countless patients. And you? You’re just a young girl who spends all her time dressing up, not even a man. How much can you possibly know? Do you really expect patients to trust you?”
He then gestured toward Greg. “This is Dr. Greg Robinet from Brighton Central Hospital. Xylia got into our hospital through connections. She had no skill, so she was fired. Do you really think she’s qualified to treat anyone?”
The crowd hesitated. Their gazes toward Xylia were now filled with doubt.
Greg had been silent, observing the female patient’s condition closely. After a pause, he finally spoke, “Dr. Xylia Watson was indeed employed at our hospital, but she left due to specific reasons. Private–hospitals function differently than public hospitals. Private hospitals charge significantly more for treatment. It’s clear she’s motivated by financial gain.”
“Hold on… Dr. Watson was fired? I already had reservations about her abilities. I wouldn’t have come here if I had other choices.”
Im not sure what to do. Dr. Watson is my doctor… I’ve felt improvement over the past week, but should I discontinue my medication? Should I get a second medical opinion?”

The woman trembled slightly, on the verge of breaking down.
Xylia gave her hand a reassuring squeeze and said softly,
