Simon stood frozen as if his soul had been ripped from his body.
Lulu had cut up their matching shirts with her own hands.
Could she have found out about everything between him and Sophie?
Susanna, standing nearby, noticed that Simon hadn’t reacted for a long time. She reminded. him, “Mr. Fulmer, there’s more underneath.”
Simon hastily picked up the shredded fabric and set it aside.
Their marriage certificate lay on the second layer of the gift box; it had also been cut into pieces.
Luna had even destroyed their marriage certificate.
With trembling hands, Simon tried to piece the certificate back together. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a divorce agreement at the very bottom.
His movements paused before he picked up the divorce agreement and examined it carefully. When he confirmed it was written in Luna’s handwriting, he turned to Susanna. His voice was hoarse as he asked, “Did she ask you to take out the divorce agreement I signed and stored in the safe?”
Susanna nodded, reporting truthfully, “Mrs. Fulmer contacted Mr. Lawson long ago. This divorce agreement has already taken effect.”

It was just one sentence, but to Simon, it felt like a devastating blow. His tall frame swayed unsteadily.
Lowering his head, he touched the divorce agreement and muttered to himself, “This can’t be… This divorce agreement must be fake… Lulu must be joking with me. There’s no way she would suddenly leave me…”
As Susanna looked at the man teetering on the edge of collapse, she gestured upstairs and reminded him, “Mr. Fulmer, the second surprise Mrs. Fulmer prepared for you is on the third floor. I’ll take you there now.”
Simon frowned deeply, an overwhelming resistance rising in his chest. “I’m not going.” He was terrified of the possibility that Luna had planned another “surprise” to shatter his heart even further.
Susanna lowered her gaze slightly.
“Mrs. Fulmer instructed me that if you refused to go upstairs, I should relay her exact words to you. She said, “This is the last surprise I’ll ever prepare for you. Whether you choose to see it or not is entirely up to you.“”
Simon’s face turned ashen. He hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided to go upstairs.
Susanna followed him closely. As the elevator doors were about to close, she quietly tapped her phone and sent out an invitation.
At the same time, the phones of the guests in the banquet hall on the second floor began vibrating one after another.
One by one, they glanced down at their screens, their expressions shifting to astonishment.
“What’s going on? I just received a wedding invitation for Simon and Sophie.”
“Who’s Sophie Sutherland? Isn’t tonight supposed to be the birthday banquet Simon prepared for Lulu himself? Have they already divorced?”
“This feels like it’s about to be the scandal of the century. Let’s head up to the third floor and see for ourselves.”
The guests surged toward the third floor like a tide.
At the same time, Simon stepped out of the elevator on the third floor of the Evercoast Hotel, and he was greeted by the sight of the hallway on both sides lined with display boards, each featuring freshly taken wedding photos of him and Sophie.
Above the entrance to the banquet hall, a large banner hung prominently. “Congratulations to Simon Fulmer and Sophie Sutherland on Their Marriage.”
Simon’s face turned pale when he saw the scene.

A sudden realization struck him like a bolt of lightning. He suddenly spun around and asked Susanna, “This wouldn’t happen to be the surprise Lulu prepared for me, would it?”
Susanna looked down and pointed toward the grand hall ahead. “Mr. Fulmer,” she explained as she gestured for him to head inside. “The real surprise is waiting for you in there.”
