Simon’s mind went blank for a few seconds, He didn’t even remember how he walked into the hall
All he knew was that when he reached the wedding venue, it was as if lightning had struck him. The scene before him brought his thoughts to an abrupt halt.
On the large screen, images were being displayed in sequence–the divorce agreement between him and Luna, 99 wedding photos of him and Sophie, and photos of him dining with Sophie’s parents.
Simon stumbled and collapsed into a nearby chair, utterly dazed.
He began recalling the details of his recent interactions with Luna.
It suddenly dawned on Simon that Luna had likely known about Sophie for a while now. Otherwise, Luna wouldn’t have looked at him with such emptiness in her eyes when he left at
ΠΟΟΠ.
That “goodbye” she had said now sounded more like a final farewell. And Simon had foolishly thought he’d hidden everything well.
But he and Sophie had only been physically involved. His heart was never in it.
Luna must have misunderstood him.
Simon glanced at Susanna again and asked sorrowfully, “Where did Lulu go?”
“My apologies, sir.” Susanna shook her head again. “Mrs. Fulmer instructed me not to tell
At that moment, a figure came running through the door.
Sophie, dressed in a wedding gown, entered the wedding hall. She looked at the wedding photos being displayed on the screen, her face full of excitement. There was no hint of the frailty she had shown that afternoon at the hospital.
“This surprise is a wedding with me? I love it!” she exclaimed.
In contrast to Sophie’s delight, Simon’s handsome face darkened.
“Who told you to come here? Go back now. Don’t stay here. I’ll talk to you tonight,” Simon said firmly.
