Simon’s eyes were bloodshot as he painfully gripped Sophie’s neck tightly. “You’re still trying to deny it! Someone like Lulu would never call to insult you. She wouldn’t even bother with vou!”
Sophie couldn’t breathe for a moment. Her face turned purple as she struggled to utter a few words. “It hurts…. My stomach… hurts…”
Simon took a deep breath and slowly loosened his grip, his teeth clenched in fury.
“If it weren’t for the fact that you’re pregnant, I would’ve killed you right now. Be grateful that you’re at least useful because you can bear children!”
Sophie gasped for air, shrinking back fearfully to one side.
The hotel manager hurried to the third floor just then. He pressed the remote control, but he couldn’t control the screen. In the end, he had no choice but to turn off the power.
This farce concluded unpleasantly, and everyone eventually left. Only Simon remained in the spacious hotel lobby.
He picked up his phone and called Clover.
As soon as the call connected, Clover’s sarcastic voice came through before Simon could speak.
“Oh, isn’t today your wedding day, Mr. Fulmer? Congratulations! Too bad I couldn’t make it tonight. I missed your grand wedding of the century.”
Simon’s face darkened, and he explained in a hoarse voice, “It was a misunderstanding. Lulu misunderstood me. I’ll explain it to her.”
“A misunderstanding?” Clover let out a cold laugh on the other end of the line. “Getting your first love pregnant is a misunderstanding? Simon, you know better than anyone how much Lulu sacrificed for this relationship.”
Simon had met Luna when she was in her third year at a university in Lake City. At the time, she had planned to move abroad with her parents to Naavi after graduation.
But Simon’s presence held her back.

Caught red–handed, Simon turned pale, and a flicker of darkness crossed his eyes. “Where did Lulu go? I need to see her and explain myself.”
Clover narrowed her eyes and suddenly changed the topic, asking, “Will you make Sophie get an abortion? If you can, I’ll tell you where Lulu is.”
