The sky was gray, and it was drizzling the next afternoon at Luna’s funeral.
Flint and Maple held Luna’s memorial photo as they walked in. Many had come to offer their condolences.
When Simon rushed over, he hadn’t shaved, and his face was weary. He looked as if he had

aged ten years overnight..
Entering the funeral hall, Simon staggered forward, kneeling in front of Luna’s memorial and bowing his head three times.
“I’m sorry for coming here late, Lulu…” He slapped himself across the face a few times and choked out, “I shouldn’t have indulged Sophie. I should’ve come to Naavi to find you earlier. Did it hurt? You must have been in pain and even cried when the car hit you.
“You used to be so afraid of pain, You would cry even when you just bumped into something. Lulu, please wake up. Can you look at me?”
The people offering their condolences around him looked at the scene in shock. Most of them were aware of the past between Simon and Luna.
There were rumors that Simon didn’t love his legitimate wife but loved his mistress. Yet, the scene before them seemed to prove those rumors false.
Flint and Maple stood coldly aside, exchanging a glance but saying nothing.
Simon didn’t notice the familiar figure among the crowd.
A woman in a black dress and black mask was staring coldly at him.
Horace held an umbrella for her as he stood beside her. His dark eyes flickered slightly when he saw Luna staring at Simon.
“Feeling sorry for him?” he asked.
With a frown, Luna met Horace’s gaze and stated, “I don’t feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for myself.”
When she received the first provocative voice message from Sophie, she couldn’t sleep all night, while Simon slept soundly beside Sophie.
For her fifth wedding anniversary, the blue fireworks were a gift from Simon after another woman rejected them.
When she had an accident and was hospitalized, Simon brought another woman–into their home and slept together on their marital bed.
Shouldn’t she feel sorry for herself?
As Horace looked away, he noticed Luna’s vacant expression. He prompted her gently, “Do you still want to see this? How about we go for a walk Ms Dawn?”
Luna smiled at that. “Sure.”
Just yesterday, she had obtained her new identification.
She was now Dawn Baxter.
Like her name, she would welcome a new day.

A month later, Flint and Maple announced that their niece, Dawn Baxter, would take over the
company.
This news caused another stir within the elite circles.
Over in Lake City, Simon, since returning from Naavi, had been in a constant state of melancholy.
He spent his days drowning his sorrow in alcohol, clutching Luna’s photo, lamenting, “Lulu, my Lulu, you must be lying to me. You didn’t die, right? Come back… I was wrong. I won’t‘ betray you. I shouldn’t have cheated.”
During Simon’s breakdown, Luther took the agreement he had signed five years ago and went ahead with the transfer of assets.
Since Luna had “passed away“, the property was ultimately transferred to Flint and Maple.
Maple had no patience for Simon. When she called Luther, she instructed, “The house, car, and collectibles–if anything under Simon’s name can be sold, put them online and sell them. Don’t leave anything for him.”
She wanted Simon to know that those who cherished their wives thrived while those who betrayed them would never find prosperity.
