Chapter 13 This Infuriating Ambiguity
Archer sat with perfect posture, using a knife and fork to cut his steak with grace. He chewed slowly, savoring every bite.
Taylor finally stumbled into the private dining room, looking worn out.
“Mr. Dane,” Taylor complained, “I barely escaped. These girls always try to stage coincidental meetings with you. They keep reusing the same tricks and don’t even bother to switch it up.”
Archer smirked coldly, raising his wine glass and taking a sip. “Ever since I took over Dane Corp, they come up with new schemes every day to approach me. It’s laughable. I don’t even spare them a glance.”
“Should I book us another restaurant? We can keep this one hidden for a while,” Taylor suggested.
“Do it,” Archer replied indifferently.
Just then, Taylor’s phone rang.
“Hello… Yes, understood. I’ll arrange for Mr. Dane to meet with you immediately.”
Archer raised an eyebrow, glancing at Taylor.
After ending the call, Taylor explained, “Mr. Dane, that was the Empress of Falvoria. She wishes. to meet and discuss design–related matters with you.”
“Book my flight. Reschedule my meeting with Alyssa for after I return,” Archer instructed calmly.
“Understood.”
Meanwhile, Clara was enjoying her lunch when Skyler called, informing her that an upcoming meeting had to be postponed due to unexpected travel. Sighing, she stood and headed to the
restroom.
At the same time, Archer also made his way to the restroom.
Rounding a corner, Clara accidentally bumped into someone, “I’m so sorry!” she said quickly.
Archer brushed off his clothes, looking annoyed. When he saw who it was, he smirked coldly. “Hmph. It’s you again.”
Clara blinked, startled. “You? What are you doing here?” Is this gigolo really that rich now? A high–end, five–star restaurant like this? He must be backed by a benefactor. How else could he afford it?
Archer narrowed his eyes, scanning her with a mix of anger and disdain. She’s just like the others, trying to force encounters.
For a moment, the two stood there, staring at each other, their thoughts running wild.

Archer’s face darkened immediately. Without a second thought, he grabbed Clara’s wrist and pulled her toward the men’s restroom.
“Hey! What are you doing? This is the men’s restroom- Clara began to protest, but Archer clamped a hand over her mouth.
“Quiet!” he hissed.
Ignoring her struggles, Archer dragged her into a stall.
In the cramped space, their bodies were pressed tightly together. The air felt stifling, their breaths mingling in the confined area. A strange, unexpected heat surged between them.
Archer’s hand was warm against Clara’s skin, and her soft lips were dangerously close to his. As their proximity heightened, an electric shock seemed to run through both of them, leaving them momentarily paralyzed.
Clara’s wide eyes met Archer’s, and for a brief second, his heart skipped a beat as he looked at her startled face up close.
“Is someone in here?” a voice called from outside.
The sound snapped Clara out of her daze. She pushed against Archer’s hand, ready to shout, but before she could, Archer leaned down and silenced her in the most shocking way possible–by pressing his lips to hers.
“Mm!”
Clara’s eyes
widened in disbelief as Archer pinned her against the door. No matter how much she struggled, his strength was unyielding.
Initially, Archer only wanted to stop her from making a sound. But as soon as their lips met, at wave of something wild and inexplicable surged through him. His heart pounded uncontrollably, and he felt an undeniable urge to keep going.
“Mm-!”
Clara’s face turned bright red, her heart racing like mad. It was as if a startled deer had taken off in her chest, unable to stop.
