Chapter 14 Mr Dane is Sick

“Seems like no one’s here. Let’s go,” the voice outside said before footsteps retreated.
In the confined space, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Clara snapped back to her senses. first, pushing against Archer’s chest with all her might.
But her resistance felt like a playful scratch to him, only fueling his determination. As his presence overwhelmed her, Clara’s thoughts began to blur. Memories of that night resurfaced, and before she realized it, her arms wrapped around his neck, returning his kiss.
Encouraged by her response, Archer grew bolder.
“Ugh…”
Someone entered the restroom and paused, muttering in disgust, “Damn it, doing that in a bathroom? Can’t they wait until they get to a bed?”
The stranger stormed out, slamming the door behind them.
The abrupt noise brought both Archer and Clara back to reality.
Clara let out a startled gasp and shoved Archer away, stumbling to the ground.
Her clothes were disheveled, exposing more skin than she’d like, her lips were swollen, and her neck bore unmistakable marks. She stared at him in shock and anger.
Archer stood frozen, realization dawning on him. He’d completely lost control. As guilt gnawed at him, he awkwardly extended a hand to help her up.
Clara slapped his chest with trembling fists, her eyes red with fury. “You’re insane! How could you do this? What’s wrong with you?”

“Sorry?” Clara snapped, cutting him off. “This is the worst luck of my life! Running into you wherever I go is a nightmare. Just think of this as being bitten by a rabid dog, and do me a favor- stay out of my life!”
Her words stung, and Archer’s fleeting guilt was quickly replaced by anger.
I’m being compared to a dog? Archer’s pride couldn’t take it.
Suppressing his irritation, his words came out sharp and cutting. “Hmph, you seemed to enjoy it just now. I distinctly remember you responding more enthusiastically than I did, like you couldn’t wait to climb on top of me.”
“You- Clara’s face burned with embarrassment. She couldn’t understand why she had lost control like that.

Clara nearly exploded with rage. “You’re delusional! Why would I go out of my way to meet some gigolo? You’re not even rich enough to be worth my time!”
For a moment, Archer forgot that she still believed he was a gigolo.
“Are you saying you don’t like me or haven’t been deliberately trying to get close to me?” he challenged.
Clara laughed mockingly. “If I liked you, may I never find a seasoning packet in my instant noodles again! But don’t fall for me, either. There’s no future for us.”
Archer smirked, refusing to back down. “If I liked you, may I only ever get the seasoning packet. without the noodles.”
“Hmph!”
“Hmph!”
They exchanged cold glares before turning their backs on each other.
Archer left the restroom first, his expression icy, while Clara stormed off to pay her bill, I boiling over.

When Archer returned to his private room, Taylor couldn’t help but notice his swollen lips. “Mr. Dane, what happened to your mouth?”
Archer brushed his fingers over his lips, his voice laced with irritation. “Got bitten by a wild person.”
Taylor blinked, utterly confused.
Back at home, Clara dashed into the bathroom, scrubbing herself furiously as if to wash away every trace of him. Only when her skin felt raw did she collapse onto her bed. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t sleep.
“Agh! Why is my head full of that stupid gigolo?” she yelled, clutching her pillow. “Why? Why?”
Meanwhile, Archer sat in a meeting, his focus entirely elsewhere. The memory of their heated kiss kept replaying in his mind, distracting him at every turn.
“Mr. Dane, what do you think about the proposal we just discussed?” one of the executives asked.
“Uh… Archer snapped out of his thoughts. Instead of answering, he turned to Taylor. “Taylor, order me some tea to cool down.”
Taylor blinked in confusion. Tea? Is Mr. Dane feeling sick? Or did something else get him all worked up?
