Chapter 16 She’s Pregnant
“Which guest?”
Archer was in the middle of enjoying his meal, completely in the dark about what was happening.
Cassian and Nora, hearing that Clara had fainted, panicked and were ready to rush upstairs. Archer quickly put down his spoon. “Grandpa, Grandma, calm down. Let me check on her first.”
“Archer, Clara is an important guest. Don’t treat her poorly,” Cassian urged.
“Don’t just stand there. Call 911!” Nora exclaimed.
While the staff scrambled to call for help, Archer went upstairs to the guest room. He saw someone unconscious on the floor surrounded by scattered sketches.
Though concerned, there was no time to examine the papers. He quickly scooped her up, brushing aside her messy hair–and froze.
It’s her
“She’s the guest?”
Cassian and Nora arrived moments later.
“Archer, how is Clara? Why did she suddenly faint?” Cassian asked anxiously.
Archer’s expression darkened. “Grandpa, didn’t I tell you not to associate with her?”
“This isn’t the time for that. Get her to the hospital!”
Suppressing his anger, Archer carried Clara to the ambulance. Though furious, he couldn’t deny that her collapse didn’t seem fake.
After an hour later, at the hospital, Archer learned that Clara had been staying at Dane Mansion while he was away on a business trip. His temper flared. This scheming woman had managed to get close to my grandparents! It’s unforgivable.
He berated Cassian and Nora for bringing a stranger into their home, but they scolded him in
return.
As the argument heated up, the doctor walked in holding a report.
“Are you the patient’s family? Congratulations, she’s six weeks pregnant–with twins!”
Archer’s face went blank.
On the bed, Clara stirred and slowly opened her eyes. Hearing the doctor’s words, she muttered in disbelief, “What? I’m pregnant? With twins?”

Marry her and take responsibility!”

Archer chuckled darkly, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Yes, I slept with her once, but she took the pills. Who knows whose children they are? They can’t possibly be mine!”
Clara turned pale, her shock quickly turning to anger. “What are you talking about? Who do you think I am?”
Cassian smirked knowingly. “Archer, you had Taylor force her to take those pills, but I had every pharmacy switch them with vitamins. Do the math. The timing of her pregnancy matches. perfectly with when you two were together.”
Archer’s expression soured.
Clara’s head spun as she processed what Cassian had revealed. “What? How could this happen? I took the pills–how were they vitamins?”
Archer was equally stunned. Doing the calculations in his head, the timing did align. Could the twins in her womb really be mine?
His gaze instinctively shifted to Clara’s abdomen, where two new lives were growing. Are they my children?
Cassian pressed, “If you don’t believe it, do a DNA test after they’re born. But as a man, you need. to take responsibility. She’s carrying your children. You must step up.”
Archer’s face was stormy. “Marriage isn’t just up to me. It depends on whether she agrees.”
“Are you saying you’d marry her if she agreed?” Cassian asked.
Archer rubbed his temples, feeling cornered. “Yes.”
Cassian turned to Clara. “Clara, Archer is willing to take responsibility. What do you think?”
Clara held her head in her hands, overwhelmed.
“I.. I don’t know…” Marry a gigolo? A man who’s likely been with countless women?
Just then, Archer’s phone rang. He stood, seizing the opportunity. “I’ll take this outside. You all can continue talking.”
As Archer left, Cassian and Nora kept urging Clara to agree to the marriage.
But Clara’s mind was a chaotic mess. She couldn’t hear a word they said. She was lost in thought. I’m pregnant. With a gigolo’s babies. This is a nightmare…
