“Clara, are you listening to us?”
“Grandpa, Grandma, my mind is all over the place, I…”
Clara held her head, visibly distressed, “How could I be pregnant…”
Her heart sank. The reality was grim–she was pregnant with the child of a gigolo. Meanwhile, this gigolo’s grandparents, eager for a great–grandchild, kept sweet–talking her into keeping the baby, promising they would treat her well and more.
Clara couldn’t bear to listen anymore, “Grandpa, Grandma, please stop talking, I need some time to think.”
“Take your time, but remember, you are carrying the Dane family’s child. If you agree to marry into the Dane family, we will not let you down.”
With these words, Cassian and Nora left the hospital room, leaving Clara alone, clutching her. head in agony. The thought of carrying the child of a gigolo was overwhelming, yet the thought of denying life to the innocent twins she carried was unbearable…
Outside, Archer was on the phone with Taylor..
“Mr. Dane, there’s trouble. You’re on the front page again!”
“What happened?”
“A journalist got photos of you carrying a girl into an ambulance, and of you both at the hospital. The news about her being pregnant is all over the internet.”
“The Empress of Falvoria has heard about this and is asking what’s going on. She doesn’t like her partners to be involved in scandals…”
Archer’s mood darkened dangerously.
“Suppress the media buzz, and find out who dared to mess with my news.”
After hanging up, Archer saw his grandparents leaving the hospital room and stormed in, only to be stopped by Cassian, “Archer, what are you doing? Don’t you dare touch her; she’s carrying your child!”
“Grandpa, she’s a scheming woman, I’ve told you to stay away from her! I need to teach her a lesson.”
Inside the hospital room, Clara, hearing Archer’s furious words, was utterly confused. What scheme? Is he out of his mind?
Cassian pulled him aside for a private talk.

“We’ll look into it, but the fact remains, she’s carrying your child. You can’t harm her, and you promised me you’d take responsibility.”
Archer, frustrated, kicked the wall, “Grandpa, she’s a gold digger with cruel intentions, I can’t marry someone so despicable!”
“If you don’t marry her, are you asking me to die?”
Cassian’s determination seemed to suggest he might indeed die if Archer refused Clara. The Dane family dynamics were complex; raised by his grandfather, Archer had a deep bond with him and saw how adamant he was.
“Grandpa!”
“No more discussion. Once Clara has made up her mind, you must marry her.”
Archer scoffed, “Consider? This is all her manipulation! Playing the victim and trying to trap me.”
“Archer!” Cassian’s voice grew colder, “Be respectful to Clara, she saved my life!”
Despite his defiance, Archer knew he couldn’t win against his grandfather.
“Fine, let her consider it.”
“Enough, you two. Stop arguing. You go home, and I’ll talk to Clara.”
Nora sent them away.
With a grim expression, Archer glanced at the hospital room and then left with his grandfather. Shortly after, his phone rang, and he answered irritably, “What now?”
“Archer, is what they said on the news true? What’s your relationship with that girl? Is she really pregnant with your child?”
