Archer was already frustrated, and Mira’s questioning only fanned the flames. He replied coldly. “Thanks to you for sending me a gift, who ended instead.”

“How could this happen?” Mira’s face turned pale. “Archer, you’re blaming me, aren’t you? I had the opening ceremony for my new drama today, but I won’t go. I don’t care about being a top celebrity anymore. I love you. I just want to be with you…”
Archer found her words laughable. Pressing his temples, he muttered bitterly, “Mira, you shouldn’t have done what you did. Now the damage is done, and nothing you say will change it.”
“Archer. I love you, and I know you love me too. Don’t abandon me. I’ll treat her children as my own. Let’s go public with our relationship and get engaged, okay?”
Over the three years of their relationship, Archer had never publicly acknowledged Mira as his girlfriend. She had claimed it was due to the taboos of the entertainment industry, but now she seemed desperate.
Cassian, who had overheard the call, grabbed Archer’s phone.
“Ms. Mira, Cassian said bluntly, “you’ve been dating my grandson for three years and barely spent three days together. Your relationship was bound to fall apart. Better to end it now than drag it out. I’ll transfer your breakup compensation later.”
Before Mira could respond, Cassian ended the call.
Archer glared at his grandfather. “Grandpa, how could you take my phone and make decisions for me?”
“Archer, Mira is not suitable for you. Your dynamic isn’t that of a couple; it’s more like a superior and subordinate. Clara, on the other hand, is pregnant with your children. I’ll start arranging the wedding immediately. You and Clara make a much better match.”
“Grandpa…” Archer groaned, his temples throbbing as his frustration boiled over.
Meanwhile, Mira sat on the set of her new drama’s opening ceremony, restless. Turning to her manager, she said, “Sophia, I need to return to Aurevia. Please handle the leave request for me and arrange reshoots later.”
Without waiting for a response, she bolted for the airport, leaving her luggage behind.

Clara spent the entire afternoon deep in thought before finally making up her mind.
“Grandma,” she said softly, “I’d like to talk to Archer.”
Nora beamed. “Clara, dear, have you made up your mind? I’ll contact Archer right away. You two need to have a proper talk.”
Clara nodded.

Half an hour later, Archer entered Clara’s hospital room.
Before leaving them alone, Nora warned Archer sternly. “No harsh words or actions.”

Suppressing his anger, Archer glared coldly at Clara. It had been weeks since he last saw her, and he thought their paths would never cross again. Yet here they were, tangled together once more by fate.
“What do you want to say?” Archer asked icily. “Agreeing to marry me?”
Clara looked at him in surprise. How did he know what I was thinking?
She nodded. “I’ve thought it through. I’ll marry you. Even though you’re a gigolo, these two lives are innocent. I’ll marry you and have the children, but we need to sign an agreement.”
Archer raised a brow, his gaze cold, waiting for her to continue.
“After we get married, you can’t sell yourself anymore. Once the children are born, we’ll each take one, and then we’ll divorce.”
Archer’s eyes darkened as he slowly stepped toward her. His overwhelming presence made Clara instinctively want to back away, but she forgot she was sitting on the bed.
With a mocking smile, Archer said. “You orchestrated all of this, yet now you’re pretending to play hard to get with a contract marriage? And then divorce? Woman, your games are boring.”
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about.” Clara replied, frowning.
Archer tilted her chin, forcing her to look at him. “In my world, there’s no such thing as divorce. Only widowhood?
Clara was confused.
Archer continued, his tone sharp. “I’ve already agreed to take responsibility and marry you. But why are you doing this? Your manipulations are despicable and shameless in my eyes.”
Clara felt completely lost.
Archer pulled out his phone, opened a news article, and tossed it onto the bed beside her.
