Archer reached out, pulling her closer by the waist.

Clara’s eyes twinkled with mischief. It seemed his information wasn’t complete.
She chuckled, avoiding his gaze, “Of course, I don’t have the money. That day, after being mocked, I borrowed it from a good friend in a fit of anger.”
“Your friend must be quite generous to lend you money just like that.”
Archer’s tone was ambiguous, and it wasn’t clear whether he believed her or not.
Clara chuckled and turned her face away, feeling a bit embarrassed.
