The man had a warm and gentle demeanor as he spoke, making him very approachable.
However, when Wyatt noticed the ring on Clara’s finger, his gaze dimmed for a brief moment.
Clara didn’t notice and focused on the wagging–tailed husky. “Does it bite?”
Wyatt smiled softly, stroking the dog’s head. “She’s mischievous but never bites.”
“Can I pet her?”
“Of course.”
Wyatt’s smile was as warm as spring sunshine, and Clara finally let her guard down. gently ran her hand over the dog’s fur.
Squatting, she
Her movements were tender, almost mesmerizing, though she seemed unaware of the allure in her actions. Wyatt found himself captivated, his gaze lingering on her.
“Awwooo-”
The husky sprawled on the ground, wagging her tail and letting out contented little howls every time Clara touched her. She even nudged her head against Clara’s feet in a playful show of
affection.
Wyatt chuckled. “She really seems to like you.”
Clara smiled at the husky. “She’s quite adorable. I like her too. But next time you see me, don’t knock me over, okay?”
“Awwooo!”
The husky wagged her tail vigorously, as if agreeing.
The two laughed at the dog’s antics.
“She’s quite clever, isn’t she?” Clara noted.
“Very. Daisy’s a smart girl,” Wyatt replied.
After a pause, he hesitated before adding. “You seem to like dogs a lot, and Daisy clearly likes you. 100. Maybe sometime we could walk her together?”
His tone carried a hint of anticipation.
Clara replied, “I do love cats and dogs. If you let me know when you’re taking her out and I’m free, I’d be happy to join. You’ve got my WhatsApp, right?”

Clara smiled politely and nodded. Wyatt flashed a dazzling grin, one that might have left other women speechless, but Clara only glanced for a second before looking away with calm composure.
“It’s getting late. I should head home. See you.”
Clara stood, ready to leave.
Daisy whimpered, biting the hem of Clara’s skirt as though begging her to stay.
“Daisy, stop it. She has things to do,” Wyatt scolded.
“Whimper…”
The dog’s eyes were wide and pleading, fixed on Clara.
Clara knelt slightly. “Be good. I really need to go, but I’ll join you and Wyatt for a walk soon, okay?”
Satisfied, Daisy released her skirt.
“Goodbye,” Clara said, waving.
“See you.” Wyatt replied, his gaze lingering on her retreating figure, intense yet tinged with sadness as his eyes fell on the wedding ring again.
“I remember the first time we met; she wasn’t wearing a ring. When did this happen?” Wyatt murmured, his voice full of disappointment.
Daisy tilted her head at him, her eyes glinting mischievously.
Back home, Clara tidied up briefly before heading to her studio to work on her designs. She
got so immersed that hours passed, and night had fallen before she realized the time.
“It’s already eight. Archer said he’d pick me up to stay at his place. Why hasn’t he called?”
After some thought, Clara decided to call him.
“Hello, who’s this?” A woman’s voice answered.
Clara froze, her voice turning cold without realizing it. “I’m looking for Archer.”

She hung up angrily, throwing her phone onto the bed.
“Scumbag! He’s out fooling around, and I’m supposed to develop feelings for him? Forget it! Jerk!”
What Clara didn’t know was that Archer had left his phone at the office after work. When he returned to retrieve it, he found Mira holding it.
Archer’s voice was sharp with displeasure. “What are you doing with my phone? Who let into my office? Get out!”
