Chapter 26 Missed Me?
“Enough!” Archer’s voice was especially icy as he faced Mira’s entanglement. “Mira, what’s done is done. Continuing this is pointless. And let me warn you, if you dare barge into my office again, I’ll call the police!”
“Archer, how can you be so heartless towards me!”
“Heh, were you not heartless when you brought other women to me? You know how much I value the marital bond. Since I’m married, I will not get involved with any other woman!”
With that, Archer turned and walked away. Undeterred, Mira rushed up and embraced him. “Archer, don’t leave me. Don’t be mad at me. Can’t we just continue being together?”
As Mira pleaded, she lunged forward, attempting to kiss him. A look of disgust flashed across the man’s eyes as he dodged and pushed her away. However, she clung to him with all her might, deliberately smudging her lipstick on his collar.
“Enough, get lost!”
Archer roared and pushed her away unceremoniously. “Someone, get this woman out of here!”
At his command, someone hurriedly pulled the woman away. Archer coldly ordered, “If anyone dares to let her in again, they can leave with her!”
After issuing his commands, he left indifferently.
Back in his luxury car, Archer massaged his temples with a headache. Suddenly, the face of Clara popped into his mind, calming his restless heart as he remembered her fierce demeanor, a smile unwittingly spreading across his lips. I wonder what she’s doing now. Does she miss me?
Meanwhile, Clara, misunderstanding that Archer was cheating, felt unusually agitated. The thought of him being intimate with another woman made her restless, feeling a surge of
anger.
“That lying man, always preaching about marital loyalty, yet here he is, keeping a mistress. Men’s words are nothing but deceitful lies!”
The more Clara thought about it, the angrier she got. Holding a pen over paper, she began to sketch, and before she knew it, she was drawing Archer’s face.
“Ah, so annoying!”
Frustrated, Clara scribbled wildly over the drawing, turning Archer’s face into a mess.
Just then, the phone rang.
Seeing Archer’s name on the caller ID, Clara angrily hung up.
In the car, Archer, puzzled by the hang–up, called back. Clara didn’t understand why she was feeling so sulky and bitter. Seeing several missed calls from him, she steeled her heart and picked

Before she could finish, his deep voice came through, “Where are you? I’ll come pick you up.”
Still furious, Clara decided it was better to confront him face to face. “At home!”
Archer chuckled lightly. “Meet me at the entrance of River Maple Court in half an hour. I’ll take you out for dinner.”
Though still upset, Clara was swayed by his voice. “Alright, we’ll talk face to face then.”
Half an hour later, Clara stood at the entrance, spotting Archer’s car.
Archer got out and opened the passenger door. “Get in.”
Clara huffed and climbed into the car angrily.
The two sat in silence as the car drove off to a secluded spot with few people around but beautiful
scenery.
Clara had no interest in the scenery, her voice cold, “Archer, if you…
Before she could finish, Archer suddenly embraced her, his voice deep, “Did you miss me?”
Clara pondered. Miss him? Why would I miss such a scoundrel!
Clara retorted, “No!”
Archer, amused, called her, “A playful puss who denies her feelings.”
With that, he lifted her chin and leaned down to kiss her. His kisses were deep and domineering, and Clara initially resisted but gradually melted into his embrace.
“Mmm-”
Her provocative whimper overwhelmed even the always self–controlled Archer. Suddenly, he reclined the car seat and pinned her underneath him.
Clara, forgetting her initial intentions under his ‘assault, wrapped her arms around his neck and responded passionately.
“Clara…”
Archer tugged at her clothes.
