Clara’s cheeks flushed with excitement, but when she heard Archer’s confident words, she asked in surprise, “Why are you so sure you would never cheat within your marriage?”
A fleeting shadow of gloom passed through Archer’s eyes before he looked away, feigning indifference. “When I say something, I mean it.”
Clara pondered. Oh, as if men don’t cheat!
Though skeptical, Clara had caught the brief sorrow in his eyes, feeling he was hiding something…
At that moment, Archer’s phone rang.
“Hello, Grandfather.”
Cassian said, “Archer, everyone at home knows about your marriage to Clara. Your parents will come to Dane Mansion tomorrow. Bring Clara along to Dane Mansion then.”
At the mention of his parents, Archer’s gaze darkened, then he replied indifferently, “Understood.”
Instantly, a chill seemed to envelop him.
Clara, perceptive to his mood, opened her mouth to ask but thought better of it, and instead. asked, “Will your parents be displeased with me when we visit Dane Mansion tomorrow?”
After all, suddenly having a daughter–in–law might worry any parent.
Archer smirked coldly, “With me there, they’ll have to accept you.”
His tone was commanding.
Clara pouted, noticing a distinct change in his demeanor whenever his parents were mentioned. Could it be that Archer had some unspeakable issues with his own parents?
Archer checked the time. “I’ll take you out for dinner.”
Clara replied, “At this hour, it might as well be supper. Let me take you to a nice place…”
Intrigued, Archer followed the address she provided to a street filled with food stalls.
After parking, they walked side by side down the bustling street, immediately attracting attention due to their striking appearances.
Looking around at the greasy, smoky street, Archer frowned unhappily, “This? It’s all junk food here. I’d rather not eat.”
With that he made

However, Clara grabbed him, saying, “Don’t go yet. It might not compare to a five–star hotel, but the food here is quite good. What do you want to eat? It’s my treat.”
Archer scowled. “Such a dirty place, I might get sick eating here.”
“So many people eat here and they’re fine. You’re just being delicate. Come on, I’ll treat you to some skewers.”
Clara led Archer to a barbecue stall, ordering a heap of skewers. Throughout, Archer’s expression was dark, as if being there lowered his noble status.
He even wiped down the stool repeatedly with a tissue. However, when the food arrived, wafting delicious smells, his stomach began to protest.
Clara ate happily, her mouth full of meat. Watching her, he secretly swallowed his saliva.
“Are you sure you don’t want any?” she asked, her cheeks bulging and traces of food at the corners. of her mouth.
Seeing her adorable appearance, Archer felt a ripple in his calm heart. He reached out and wiped. her mouth, saying, “Well, I find you more enticing than these skewers.
After speaking, he put his stained hand to his mouth.
Clara’s face turned crimson. This man, can’t he go a day without flirting?
She shyly kicked his foot and roughly shoved a skewer into his mouth, “Eat your skewer!”
Archer instinctively wanted to spit out the so–called junk food, but upon tasting it, he was unexpectedly charmed.
Then one, two, three skewers…
Hmm, delicious!
“How about it? Tasty, right?”
Seeing him eat more and more, Clara laughed smugly, “Next time don’t call these junk food. Now that you’ve tasted them, I see you can’t stop.”
Archer put down a skewer, his face calm, “Not bad.”
Clara snorted, “You’re the one who’s denying his feelings.”
The two joyfully continued eating skewers when suddenly, a voice called out-
“Archer, is that really you? I thought I was seeing things, seeing you here at the snack street…”
