Three days before the anniversary, Nolan was still oblivious to my plans to leave and continued discussing the details of the anniversary banquet.

Nolan knew there was something ambiguous between them and noticed my silence on the sofa, panicking as he shook off the woman’s hand

Celeste almost stumbled when released, looking over with teary eyes after being steadied. 

I saw the man’s anxious face, then a hint of annoyance, followed by a deep breath as he pretended to be relaxed, pulling me into his arms.

Exhausted, I nodded and agreed. 

At that moment, the woman’s eyes filled with tears, pouting and stomping her foot before glaring at me and running out of the room. 

Once she left, Nolan’s expression turned gloomy, his long legs constantly shifting, showing impatience. 

Soon he found an excuse to go out for a smoke.
