They looked like a couple who were deeply in love with each other, while I was the mistress who ruined their relationship.
My face was still burning from the slap, but I bore with it. I looked at Aaron and said, “Aaron Tomlinson, I did not film or post any of those videos. I did not cause your company to fail to get listed.
“You should go and do a thorough check on your assistant instead. You can still salvage things if you go back now. Otherwise, you’ll lose the whole company altogether.”
I said all I had to say. I hoped that Aaron would come to the realization himself.
Rachel had insisted on bringing him here because she wanted Aaron, the only person who could stabilize the company now, to be missing when everyone would be looking for him
I had used my contacts to investigate Rachel for the past few days. She had interned at our rival company before.
Aaron’s face turned ashen at my words.
I cooperated with the police to give my statement. I also showed them the softcopy of my documents to prove that I had legally sold off my shares and never embezzled nor planned to flee the country with whatever funds I stole.
Everything proved that I was clear. The police just needed me to sign at the bottom of my statement, and then I was free to go.

As soon as Rachel saw that I was out, she happily skipped up to me and said, “Oops, sorry, Kat. I misunderstood you. I guess you never did anything bad to Aaron after all.”
I was just about to push her and her fake “apology” away when she suddenly came closer and whispered in my ear, “However, I did send a photo of you being escorted into the police station into our family group.
“I heard that Aunt Diana was teaching when she saw the photo and got a heart attack right on the spot. I bet she’s on her deathbed now.”
Diana Murphy was Mom’s name. I couldn’t believe what I just heard.
“Weren’t you always the one who had to stand out and show off to everyone else no matter what you did? What a pity–I’m planning to send you to jail for the rest of your life.”
She suddenly grabbed my hand and pushed herself in the stomach. Then, she flung herself backward wobbly on her high heels, twisted her ankle, and fell heavily to the ground.
Aaron ran up to her in a fright and held her in his arms. He looked up and glared at me murderously.
Meanwhile, Rachel held on to Aaron’s arms, her eyes turning red as she whispered pitifully, “Aaron, save me… I–I just told Kat the good news about my pregnancy but… but I didn’t think that she’d be so cruel…”

I looked at Rachel, who’d obviously orchestrated the fall and finally lost my temper with her. I roared, Rachel Sanders, are you not done messing with me that you even have to mess with my family? Why did you have to go and purposely trigger my mother? You know that she has a weak heart!”
Rachel hid in Aaron’s embrace and responded weakly, ‘I just wanted to tell her because she’d be able to think of a way to save you…
“After all, if anything happens to her, it would be because you were the one who triggered her like this. You should have just stayed with Aaron and not do such bad things. None of these would have ever happened otherwise.”
Although she spoke in a weak voice, she was staring at me with a mocking look.
I hadn’t seen Rachel in years. I never thought that she would turn out to be as shameless as this. Had it not been for her, Aaron and I would never have ended up divorced in the first place.
Aaron saw that I was in a temper, so he tightly held Rachel in his arms. I could tell that he had his guard up against me as he glared daggers at me.
I couldn’t be bothered to continue looking at them. If Aaron insisted on staying here and delaying his return to the company, it would be his own fault if he lost it.
However, Mom was innocent. I couldn’t let her get dragged into this. So, I hurried out of the police
station.
At that moment, Aaron suddenly told the police, “My girlfriend is bleeding. That woman caused her to miscarry. Arrest her!”
The police still stopped me from leaving, insisting on bringing me into the interrogation room.

I glared angrily at Aaron and screamed, “I never pushed her! You know that my mom’s life is in danger! She’s the only family I have left!”
Aaron just walked out of the police station with Rachel in his arms. When he reached me, he stopped and said, “I will get someone to look after your mom.
“As for you, since you think you’re better than everyone else and take lives so lightly, I’m going to teach you a lesson. You’re staying in the police station until you repent and realize what you did wrong.”
