Chapter 9
She hadn’t had the chance to share her joy with him, and now she had to endure the heartache of losing the child.
Thinking back to that moment, his anger flared once again. Without a second thought, he pushed Christy toward the door with force. His entire body trembled with rage, and through gritted teeth, he managed to squeeze out two words, “Abort!”
No one else, except for Lora, was worthy of bearing his child.
Patrick slammed the door behind him, his mind consumed by the fear that Lora might truly want nothing to do with him anymore.
No!
He couldn’t accept it. With fervent desperation, he searched everywhere for Lora, leaving no stone unturned. Using

every resource at his disposal, he scoured every lead, but no one seemed to know where she had disappeared from.
It made no sense. Lora had completely vanished from his world. He felt like he was losing his grip on reality. Driven by a mix of fear and helplessness, he called a few of his closest friends and went straight to a club to drown his sorrows in drink. site con

The brothers were shocked by Lora‘ s sudden and decisive actions. In their eyes, Lora had always been the epitome of a loving, devoted wife and a mother who would go to great lengths for Patrick.
“Patrick,” one of his brothers said, “sister- Ph–law is just angry. Don’t make this. Worse by ignoring her. If you stop looking. for her, she’ll be back in no time!”

He broke down, sobbing uncontrollably against her, seeking solace in her arms.
Christy, however, was seething. She hated being mistaken for Lora. Her 18–year–old pride refused to be disrespected like that.
Anger flared within her as she pushed him, away forcefully.
“Patrick, look closely! I am not Lora!”
With those words, she ran out, tears
streaming down her face.
Patrick was suddenly aware of his mistake. He knew then that his heart had always. belonged to Lora. Sitting alone in the quiet of the room, he placed his hands over his face and cried again.
His brothers tried to urge him to chase after Christy, but he waved them away angrily.
“Get out, all of you!” he bellowed, gripping.
