Chloe was overjoyed. She clung to him, laughing and squealing. But after a while, she noticed me sitting alone on the couch. Her eyes turned red again as she came over to hug me, whispering, “Thank you, Mommy.”

Aiden’s position wasn’t reinstated yet, so he came home on time every day. On the other hand, I was the one who got busier.
I signed up for a major industry exam. If I passed, it would be a huge boost for my career. Before, I never dared to register because I was juggling work during the day and taking care of Chloe at night.
Now, Aiden had time. He did the dishes and took care of Chloe.
The moment dinner was over, I locked myself in my room and focused entirely on studying. I needed to make the most of these three months.
I poured my energy into studying and healing.
Of course, there were still moments when I still fell apart like when I slipped up and mentioned Skyla’s name.
Aiden finally snapped, letting out all the frustrations bottled up inside him.
