“Hello, Ms. Farrell. Mr. Kellet asked me to tell you something. If you want to save your mom with the Kellet Group’s latest medical technology, you must break up with your fiancé and return to him.
“Otherwise, your application will be rejected.
“Mr. Kellet’s patience is wearing thin. You’ve got only one week to make your decision.”
The young man at the other end fell silent, waiting for Tiana Farrell’s response.
Tiana stared at the wedding countdown on the screen, her voice sounding somewhat resolute.
“Okay. I agree.”
The young man seemed surprised, but he quickly regained his composure.
“Alright. A car will come and pick you up in a week.”
As soon as Tiana hung up the phone, deafening cheers erupted from the private room.
When she opened the door, she saw Kelvin’s pampered secretary Miranda Bauer forcing a kiss on him.
Behind them was a cake to celebrate the upcoming wedding of Tiana and Kelvin.
The cheers came to a sudden halt as the door was pushed open, and all eyes fixated on Tiana.
The scene was embarrassing yet amusing.
Right after the atmosphere soured, Miranda pushed Kelvin away.
Then she looked at Tiana, her eyes filled with tears.
“Tiana, you and Kelvin are getting married. To leave no regrets, I kissed him on a whim. Sorry.”
Miranda was born with a delicate and charming appearance. When she spoke in a whisper, people would naturally feel pity for her.
Just like now, even though she was the one in the wrong, Kelvin still spoke up for her.
“Come on. It’s just for fun. See, Miranda even brought a cake to congratulate us. Everyone is waiting for you to cut the cake.”
Kelvin’s casual remark enlivened the atmosphere. Everyone continued to have fun like nothing had happened.
Tiana lowered her gaze, walked over, and unpacked the large cake box.
When the cake was fully revealed, however, the just heated atmosphere fell into a dead silence again.
The words written on the cake were ” Happy Wedding to Miranda and Kelvin.”
Miranda exclaimed, “Oh, no! I forgot to tell the shop owner the bride’s name. She must have thought the cake was for me and Kelvin. “Tiana, you won’t be mad at me, will you?”
As soon as her words fell, Kelvin frowned at the cake.
Then he scolded Miranda, feigning annoyance, “You’re as sloppy as usual. Forget about getting a bonus this month.”
He then turned to Tiana and said in a gentle voice, “It’s not a big deal. Cut her some slack.”
Tiana sneered at Kelvin’s words.
Since the day Miranda became Kelvin’s secretary, she had made many similar mistakes.
Every time Tiana got angry and demanded him to fire Miranda, he made light of it to muddle through.

Outside, the thunder roared, and the pouring rain washed over the ground.

“If you like it, I’ll have the driver go and buy a new one. As you know, Miranda isn’t in good health.”
Tiana looked up and met Kelvin’s gaze, tittering.
“Since she’s not in good health, she should quit.
“Don’t tell me you’re reluctant to let her go.”
Kelvin remained silent, while Miranda started sobbing.
She bit her lip and pulled at her hemline, her delicate face covered in tear streaks like she had been bullied.
“Tiana, I’ll go get a new cake for you. As long as I can stay by Kelvin’s side, I’m willing to do anything.”
With that, Miranda turned and trotted out of the private room. In a short while, her petite figure appeared in the rain. After taking two steps, she fell.
Kelvin, losing his cool, grabbed his coat and shot a disappointed gaze at Tiana.
“It’s just a cake. Do you have to be so mean?”
Then he left without looking back.
Tiana didn’t try to stop him, just sitting there staring at the cake.
The crowd was confused by her reaction. If it had happened before, Tiana would’ve made a big fuss, causing chaos until she Why was she so calm this time? Could it be…
“She looks so calm. Is she giving up on Mr. Gale?”
“I heard Mr. Kellet had returned from Asnia. Maybe, she’s attempting to dump Mr. Gale and return to Mr. Kellet.”

“That makes sense. The Farrell family went bankrupt, and her mother fell seriously ill. She has to find a way to cling to Mr. Gale. I guess she’s just acting like she doesn’t care…”
The whispers grew fainter and fainter. Soon, the lively private room turned empty, leaving only Tiana. Downstairs, Miranda and Kelvin were embracing in the rain, both thinking Tiana was being unreasonable.

Just when she thought this was over, Kelvin, a pampered scion, set aside his pride and worked for a whole month to buy that bracelet for her. Tiana could recite every word that Kelvin said back then even until now.
“I won’t let you feel upset because of anything.”
Everyone at Criville University had heard about this, and they all envied their love.
But now, Kelvin did the same for Miranda over and over again.
The countdown to the wedding, which Tiana had been eagerly anticipating for many years, turned into the deadline for her departure. From now on, she didn’t want to see Kelvin ever again.
