Chapter 18
This winter, Tiana received some good news.
With the help of the Kellet Group, Leslie could wake soon.
To show his sincerity, Tiana prepared a birthday cake for Martin.
Just as she finished making the cake, she suddenly received a phone call from Erica.
“Tiana, although you and Kelvin broke up, I still can’t accept the reality so quickly.
“Tomorrow is my birthday, can you come back to Sleetford to see me?”
Erica’s tone sounded very sincere. Tiana thought about how Erica helped her before. She wanted to say yes but…
Erica noticed Tiana’s hesitation. She added, “Kelvin is still overseas for business. He won’t be able to come back tomorrow.”
Hearing this, Tiana agreed to go to Sleetford tomorrow.
“Okay, Erica.”
Tiana hung up the phone and booked a flight to Sleetford. Because she wouldn’t stay for long, she didn’t tell Martin.
The next morning, Tiana went to the airport alone.
Just as she was about to go through the security check, she heard a low voice.
“Where did you go?”
Tiana was so scared. She turned around and saw Martin.
She was stunned. Her voice became trembling.
“Erica’s birthday is today. I want to go and spend some time with her. She has always been kind to me and she also said that Kelvin isn’t in Sleetford…”
Tiana hadn’t finished speaking and Martin tore the plane ticket in her hand into pieces.
Martin said angrily, “Is she telling the truth? Tiana, because your mother is getting well and will wake soon, you think I will be of no use?
“You want to kick me away and go back to find Kelvin like what you did back then, right?
“Do you think I am a pushover?”
His hoarse voice carried a hint of madness. Tiana had never seen Martin in this state before. She was scared and stepped back.
Seeing the intense atmosphere between the two, Ben quickly brought out a cake to appease Martin. “Mr. Kellet, Ms. Farrell told me last night that she would just stay there for a while and come back soon. Look, this cake was made by Ms. Farrell herself, specifically for celebrating your birthday tonight.”
The strawberries on top of the cake were fresh. The unique “Happy Birthday” written in chocolate on the cake showcased the thoughtfulness of the person who made this.
Martin paused for a moment.
Then, he knocked over the cake.
“I don’t need a birthday party.
“Ben, because you decided without consulting me, you are fired.”
The cake fell to the ground, and a few fresh strawberries rolled to the feet of Tiana.
She stared at the ruined cake, and Ben standing beside her. Tiana instantly became mad.
She said, “Yes, Mr. Kellet is right. You have always been able to get whatever you want, but today I won’t let you have it your way.”
Taking advantage of everyone’s attention being focused on Martin, Tiana skillfully passed through the security check and boarded the plane.
Looking down at the diminishing figures of Martin, Tiana finally breathed a sigh of relief. She thought, “Fortunately, the ticket Martin tore is my return
ticket.”
However, when Tiana thought of how Martin ruined the cake she made, she was angry.
After petting Martin’s number on the b
