Chapter 6
“You two are lucky, may God bless you.”
Mom gently placed the child next to me.
“But the doctor also said, you really suffered a lot this time and lost a lot of blood. You must take good care of yourself from now on, pay attention to the wound healing, and make sure not to overexert yourself!”
She deliberately avoided talking about Bradley.
My own daughter went to the Ghost Gate, but my son–in–law was missing all night.
My mother has always been a smart person.
I carefully kissed my daughter’s fingers and calmly told my mother.
“I planned to get divorced.”
“Mom, Bradley, he…”
“Paityn, stop talking. Mom already knows. My daughter suffered.”
She held my hand tightly with a heartache, and tears fell down in big drops.
“After you entered the operating room last night, Mom kept calling that jerk, but no one answered even when the phone was turned off! I thought he was busy with work.”
“Until you and your mother left the operating room, I saw Bradley when I was processing your hospitalization. He was accompanying a woman for a medical examination.”
“If it weren’t for you just coming back from the brink of death and still needing your mother, your mother would have wanted to rush up and kill this couple!”
I held my mom’s hand and comforted her.
A profound sense of tranquility in the heart.
My mother raised me all by herself, appearing fragile on the outside but incredibly strong on the inside.
No matter how old I grew, in her eyes, I was always a little daughter who needed to be protected.
“Paityn, Mom can raise you alone, and she can also help you raise your daughter.”
“So, whatever you want to do, just do it without having to explain to your mom.”
You see, even without Bradley, I still had my mom who loved me.
My world did not undergo any earth–shattering changes.
Just a man.
In the evening, Bradley finally appeared.
He pushed open the door of the ward in a hurry. “Paityn, how do you feel now?”
He knelt straight in front of the bed and slapped himself hard,
“I was a jerk! I couldn’t even be there with you when you were giving birth! You can hit me, curse at me, whatever you want! There was indeed an urgent matter at the company at that time, and later my phone ran out of battery, so I turned it off.”
“…”
I watched the man’s performance coldly.
He interrupted him in annoyance, “Divorce, Bradley,”
“Divorce? Why?!”
“It’s not like that, Paityn. Listen to me and let me explain. Last night, something did happen at the company, and I just…”
I was really exhausted, so I decided to get straight to the point.
“Katherine, 29 years old, lived in Green Apartments and was three months pregnant. Last night, you accompanied her to the hospital for a check–up.” Chapter 6

“Bradley, you cheated on me, and I find it disgusting,” the man looked at me in horror, and his face turned pale in an instant.
He nervously grabbed my hand.
“Paityn, I was momentarily infatuated.”
“I had never thought of getting a divorce. I was actually going to break up with her, but she told me she was pregnant.”
“I couldn’t, after all, it was a life. Paityn, you have to believe me, I always loved you!”
What a coincidence, just at that moment. The mother returned to the ward with her daughter who had just had her blood drawn.
Bradley looked as if he had seen a lifesaving straw.
“Honey, besides, we had a child, forgive me once for the sake of our child.”
My mother avoided his hand that wanted to hold the child and placed the child securely next to me.
Then, calmly, I lifted the chair next to me and smashed it onto Bradley’s head.
Bradley jumped and dodged, and the chair eventually landed on his shoulder. Silently, my mother lifted the chair for the second time, and Bradley ran away, clutching his head and screaming in pain.
The flying chair smashed into the door.
A deafening sound.
