Chapter 2
“Caleb,” Maleah’s voice sounded weak, “Kneel down! This is your father.” As the little boy was about to kneel, I ran over and helped him up.
“Children, fathers cannot make random claims,”
Maleah panicked, “He was my and Roland’s son!”
“Oh,” I lowered my eyelids, “You say it is, then it is, I don’t believe it, who can prove it?”
“We could prove.”
Two more people appeared at the entrance.
It was my long–unseen in laws, Claire Hanson and Dayton Hanson.
Chapter 3
“Valeria, you bitch!” Claire pounced on me as soon as she saw me. “Our son died and you didn’t inform us while notifying everyone else. What were your intentions?”
How could I let her hit me? As I stepped back and waved my hand, someone immediately came up to stop her.
I said on the side, “Mom, didn’t you tell me not to contact you unless I died?”
It seems that Claire has forgotten.
That year, she kicked me out of the house and said this to me.
“You wicked woman, my son must have been killed by you! You did such despicable things for money; you deserve to die!” Claire kept charging towards me, seemingly wanting to scratch my face.
Luckily, my bodyguard, whom I hired, was reliable. He held onto her tightly, not leaving any gaps.
“Mom, you wouldn’t not know how Roland died, right? He was with…”
“Caleb, come and call Grandma and Grandpa!” Maleah interrupted me directly, pulling the little child over,
Claire immediately bent down and touched the child’s face, saying, “This is our grandson, he looks exactly like Roland did when he was little.”
She looked at Maleah and said, “Maleah, you have worked so hard all these years, raising the children all by yourself.”
Watching this scene of a family reunion, I felt a bit disgusted.
I kindly reminded, “Mom, you believe everything she says, but we still don’t know whose child this is.”
Upon hearing this, Maleah became furious. “Valeria, are you saying that this child is not Roland’s? Let me tell you, this child is indeed mine and Roland’s. When we broke up, I was already pregnant, and I have been living with the child all these years.”
Claire chimed in as well, “This child clearly takes after our family, you wicked woman. Unable to bear children of your own, yet envious of others who do.”
Seeing that Claire was completely focused on herself, Maleah also became stubborn.
She began to cry and complained about how difficult it had been for her to raise children these past few years. She mentioned how much discrimination a single mother had to endure.
“Oh really?” I mercilessly exposed her, “How come I heard that you got married to someone else abroad because you cheated and got dumped.”
“You’re talking nonsense!” Maleah, with tears in her eyes, turned to Claire and said, “I can endure it myself, but it’s really unfortunate for the child to not have a father.”
Claire was also infected and she cursed at me, saying, “Valeria, you’re a chicken that can’t lay eggs. You’ve never been a mother, so you wouldn’t understand. I understand Maleah.”
I said softly, “Mom, even if this child is really Roland’s, there should be evidence, right? Otherwise, anyone could bring a child and claim it’s your grandson, would you believe it?”
“I have evidence,” Maleah straightened her back. “Back then, Roland didn’t believe that Caleb was his child, so he did a paternity test. Now, that paternity test is still in his office drawer. Mom, you can go and see for yourself.”
Hey.
Not much happened yet.
Everyone changed their minds.
Not only me, but everyone present, one by one, their expressions became intriguing.
This funeral was really lively.
Everyone came.
As soon as Claire heard this, she quickly sent someone to Roland’s office to retrieve the paternity test.
I intervened again, “Mom, let’s wait until after the funeral to discuss this matter. It’s not a good look to cause a scene with so many people around.”
Claire snorted coldly, “What? Valeria, are you afraid that the paternity test will reveal that this child can compete with you for the inheritance? Let me tell you, you should be more magnanimous. If I were in your position, I would definitely acknowledge Caleb.”

After Maleah revealed the specific location of the paternity test, someone quickly went to Roland’s company.
I also took the opportunity to make a phone call.
