Chapter 15
Suzanne was shocked to hear it was Richard. Alan’s condition was quite stable. It shouldn’t flare up so suddenly.
She had given Richard her number before, just in case something like this happened. Without hesitation, she put down the pillow, got out of bed, and said in a calm voice, “Alright, I’ll be there right away.”
After giving a few quick instructions, she hung up the phone, grabbed her things, and hurried out the door
In the lavishly decorated living room of the Yates residence, Seline and Mandy sat on a grand couch beneath a grand crystal chandelier. They were trying on various dazzling pleces of jewelry.
Seline’s delicate face was lit with joy as she admired the large aquamarine ring on her slender finger. She extended her band to show Mandy, brimming with excitement. “Mom, isn’t this aquamarine stunning? Look at how pure the color is!”
her voice
Mandy smiled, picking up a pair of gemstone bracelets from the table. She gently clasped them around Seline’s wrist. “This suits you better
Under the glow of the chandelier, the gemstones sparkled brilliantly.
These were expensive pieces Mandy had won at an auction. They were essential for attending high–profile events.
Seline looked at the bracelets adoring her wrist and beamed. She leaned her bead on Mandy’s shoulder, playfully saying, “Mom, you’re the best.”
Mandy bugged her, and the two laughed together.
At that moment, the butler, Niall Cooper, entered the room with his phone. He glanced around to make sure they were alone before approaching. “Mrs Yates, there’s news from the Alvarez family.”
Both women immediately straightened up, their expressions turning grave as they looked at Niall. Mandy leaned forward. “What happened?
Seline Instinctively gripped Mandy’s amn, tension rising as she waited for the answer
Niall slipped his phone into his pocket, stepped closer, and whispered, “Alan’s condition has flared up.”
Mandy and Seline exchanged a look of surprise, which quickly turned into excitement. Mandy leaned in, her tone sharp with disbelief. “Are you certain?” Niall nodded enthusiastically, a smile creeping onto his face. “Yes, and it’s bad. He has practically destroyed everything in the house, demanding blood to drink”
Having served the Yates family for years, Niall knew how to gauge the mood of his masters and deliver news with the appropriate tone.
Seline’s heart raced with exhilaration. So much for Suzanne’s so–called expertise! Just one day and her treatment had already failed.
Mandy, however, quickly tempered her expression. Her expression darkened as she fixed a cold gaze on Niall. Clearing her throat, she said in a warning tone, “You do understand that some things are better left unsaid, don’t you?”
She reached for a ring resting on the table and placed it in front of the butler,
Niall’s eyes lit up immediately. He carefully picked up the ring, cradling it in his hand, and broke into a smile “You can trust me. I’ll handle everything discreetly,”
Mandy’s smile returned to her face. She sat down, nodded, and waved him off. “Good. Jest keep me informed and you’ll be rewarded accordingly. You can

Niall clutched the ring and left the room.
Seline crossed her arms and glared at Mandy with frustration. “Mom, why did you give him that ring? It’s worth a fortune. He’s just a household staff. Does he even deserve it?”
Niall was merely a butler. He wasn’t worth a ring
Mandy picked up the other gemstone jewelry from the table and placed it in Seline’s lap. Her voice softened as she said, “Sweety, remember, some things are worth spending on
Seline took the jewelry, still frowning. She understood the reasoning but couldn’t help feeling it was a waste,
Still, her thoughts quickly shifted back to what Niall had said earlier. Her eyes sparkded with excitement as she recalled the details. “Suzanne said that with acupuncture, Alan’s urge to drink blood could be suppressed for a while. But if his condition has flared up again, doesn’t that mean Suzanne is a
The idea sent a thrill through her. She couldn’t contain her growing excitement. Suzanne was nothing but a bar.
Mandy picked up her coffee cup and took a sip, clearly pleased. “It seems we don’t even need to do anything. She’s ruining herself.”
Placing the cup back on the table, Mandy scoffed coldly. “I actually thought she might be Jane Smith. But to impersonate Jane after ser disappearance for years? That’s bold. I can’t wait to see how she cleans up this mess.”
Seline laughed softly, her tone dripping with mockery.
She thought back to Suzanne’s arrogant demeanor at the hospital. Now, just imagining her fall from grace filled Selline with satisfaction. Suzanne thought she was untouchable. Now, she was at rock bottom.
Seline sneered, “She isn’t all that great. I won’t even need to lift a finger to crush her.‘”
Mandy smiled warmly at Seline, reaching out to tock a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “Suzanne is nothing compared to you.”
Seline’s grin grew even brighter. She tilted her head with a smug expression. “Of course not. She’s not even in my league
Gathering the jewelry back into its box, she stood and turned to Mandy, her excitement bubbling over. “Mom, I’m going to tell Jenson right away There’s no way he’s going back to Suzanne!”
Jenson belonged to her. She was already anticipating his reaction when he found out.
Mandy chuckled and waved her off. “Go ahead.”
Seline clutched the box and dashed upstairs.
Late at night, a sleek Ferrart sped through the quiet road.
Suzanne gripped the steering wheel tightly. Her sharp eyes stayed fixed on the road ahead, though her mind churned with thoughts about Alan’s condition. His symptoms shouldn’t have returned, and certainly not this quickly. Something didn’t add up.
The sudden ringing of her phone snapped her out of her thoughts. Thinking it might be Richard, she answered without checking the caller ID. “Hello?“”
But instead of Richard’s voice, Seline’s smug molding tone came through
Theard that Alan’s condition has flared up again!!!
Suzanne frowned, her patience already wearing thin. She had no intention of engaging and was about to hang up when Soline’s voice piped up again. “Aren’t you supposed to be the great Dr. Jane Smith? Doesn’t seem like you’re all char ama
Camuzing
Seline was practically giddy, thrilled at the opportunity to taunt Suzanne. She twirled the ring she had just received from Mandy between her fingers and continued sarcastically, “Or is it that you’re not even Jane Smith? Did you steal her identity?”
Suzanne’s lips twitched in imitation. Seline was getting more and more insufferable.
Seline was oblivious to Suzanne’s growing annoyance. She pressed on, “Sue, just wait until lenson finds out what a failure you are!”
