Chapter 26
The moment Suzanne closed the bathroom door, she clutched at her chest, where her heart was beating wildly. It felt as though it might leap out of her chest at any second.
After a while, she calmed herself down in the bathroom. Once she had gotten dressed, she slowly opened the bathroom door
When Suzanne saw Austin, she unintentionally thought back to the scene from just now, and her cheeks reddened against her will
She lowered her hand, unable to look him in the eye as she asked softly, “Didn’t you say you’d be back after three days? Why are you back after just two?”
If she had known, she would’ve made sure to take her pajamas into the bathroom, which would’ve prevented that awkward ordeal.
Austin’s deep, piercing gaze stayed locked on her. “I finished earlier than expected.”
Suzanne couldn’t withstand his intense gaze. She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and quickly changed the topk
She hummed in response and pointed toward the bathroom door, “Oh, then you can go take a shower first.”
It wasn’t until she said it that she realized something felt off. She had just taken a shower herself and was now telling him to do the same implication felt too suggestive!
She hurriedly spoke up again, “How are we sleeping tonight?

Once more, as soon as she asked that, she froze again, wishing she could slap herself. She sounded like she was too impatient for something to happen.
She dared not lower her gaze or look at Austin. Instead, she stood awlowardly in place, feeling uneasy.
Austin’s usually cool expression softened, and a faint glimmer of amusement twinkled in his eyes. He was also tempted to tease her further.
He said calmly, “We’re married. How else are we supposed to sleep?”
Suzanne stiftened up. It seemed like there was nothing wrong with what he said, but…
She lowered her head and bit her lip tightly. She wasn’t used to this yet.
Austin glanced at Suzanne’s flustered demeanor and decided not to tease her any further. “I’ll take a shower first,” he said as he stood up to go to the
closet
After that, he took his pajamas and headed to the bathroom

Suzanne lay on the bed and listened to the sound of running water from the bathroom. Her mind was a jumbled in embarrassing disaster today was
Why didn’t she take her pajamas into the bathroom? It was one thing if she was nervous, but why did she save to go and trip? If not, the towel wouldn’t have come undone!
Plus, with the two comments she mentioned at the end, would Austin think she was desperate or something?
This was so embarrassing!
Suzanne buried herself in the blanket, feeling way too ashamed.
Time passed while Suzanne was still lost in her thoughts, just then, she felt the bed dip, and her body froze in place. She dared not move at all
Austin smiled faintly, and he suddenly lifted the blanket, Suzanne instinctively closed her eyes–partly due to the sudden brightness but mostly because she couldn’t bring herself to look at him. The earlier scene still replayed vividly in her mind, refusing to fade away.
Austin smirked slightly as he said, “Staying under the blanket the whole time can’t be comfortable Sleep properly.”
His voice sounded extremely magnetic. Although it was just a simple sentence, it stirred something within Suzanne. She responded with a hum but still dared not open her eyes.
Austin smiled in amusement, but he said nothing as he switched off the bedside lamp.
Just as Suzanne thought she could finally relax, she felt the blanker got lifted up slightly again. Then, she felt Austin slip under the blanks.
He Was he sleeping here tonight? And under the same blanket?
Suzanne was extremely flustered. As her heart began to race faster, Austin simply adjusted the blanket over them and said softly, “Go to sleep.”
Suzanne’s breathing momentarily faltered. It seemed sleep would elude her tonight.
After a long silence, Suzanne heard Austin’s slightly husky voice say, “I’ll give you time to get used to it, but I hope it won’t take too long.
Suzanne’s eyelids quivered slightly, and her body gradually began to relax a little. At least she wouldn’t have to face it tonight. She know Austin was being considerate of her. She replied softly, “Thank you.”
But the moment she said that, Suzanne felt regretful. She had Instinctively thanked him again even though he had told her not to
In the next lentant, Suzanne felt the bed shift slightly, and before she knew it, she was already being held in Austin’s embrace. Startled, she cried out. Her scream was cut off entirely as Austin leaned in and clamped her lips in a kiss
