Chapter 70
The woman standing next to her looked on in envy. How strange! She was usually the one getting confessed to. Why was her best friend suddenly getting all the attention today?
Kenneth approached the woman in the white dress and whispered with a smile, “I like you a lot. Will you be my girlfriend?”
His sexy, dulcet tones right by her ear caused the woman’s heart to beat wildly.
She looked up at Kenneth with shiny eyes, and her heart fluttered at the sight of the handsome man.
She nodded slightly before looking down and replying shyly, “Okay.”
The moment she looked up at him again, she saw the same gentle smile on his face. However, in the blink of an eye, he reached out and grabbed her best friend, pressed her against the wall, and kissed him.
The woman who had just been confessed to stared at him in shock with wide eyes.
Rage overtook her once she realized she had just been toyed with. She reached out and pulled him away from her friend before slapping him.
A loud smack ensued as her palm landed against his cheek. “Screw you, fuckboy!”
The next moment, the woman Kenneth kissed slapped him on the other cheek. “Pervert!”
Both of them realized they had been toyed with and looked at each other before slamming their heels down on Kenneth’s feet.
Kenneth let out a shriek of pain.
He finally managed to stumble back to the booth. The onlookers had all returned to their seats and held back their laughter. They clearly hadn’t imagined things to turn out that way.
Kenneth sat on the couch as he cradled his stinging cheeks. Those women hadn’t backed down without a fight.
Matthew came over, put an arm around Kenneth’s shoulders, and looked at him with a teasing gaze. “Well, Mr. Zimmerman, I must say I never expected you to be so proactive. I asked for a wink, but you ended up kissing her!”
He couldn’t help but give Kenneth a thumbs–up.
Kenneth looked at him with a sour gaze full of regret. “I was too into the moment.”
His lamenting caused the whole booth to burst out laughing–Kenneth definitely deserved those slaps.
Marsha leaned against Suzanne’s shoulder as she held her stomach. She had clearly laughed so hard that her stomach hurt.
“Damn! You deserve it for being a pervert. That’s hilarious!” she said through a fit of chuckles.
Suzanne looked at her helplessly, worried she would end up choking on laughter.
Kenneth took a gulp of liquor from his glass, but the pain in his cheeks caused his delicate features to twitch.
“So you guys are happy that I got smacked? Damn, is this what real friends are for?”
The only response he got was more cruel laughter.
Marsha finally recovered from her laughing fit and waved for everyone to continue.
“Alright! Let’s see who gets lucky this time.”
Marsha spun the bottle again. The bottle landed on Suzanne, and she froze in surprise.
Marsha’s eyes were bright with excitement. “Wow! It’s finally your turn!”
Everyone turned to look at her, even Jenson.
Marsha winked at Suzanne and said, “What do you say? Come on and pick one.”
