Chapter 73
Matthew picked up the bottle that was lying flat on the table and said, “I think you should go downstairs and dance onstage. How’s that sound?”
Suzanne’s gaze hardened. She had always seemed like a quiet, studious goody–two–shoes.
The club they were in was the most popular, upper–class club in Dudore.
It was a real dare for someone like Suzanne to dance in a club lounge full of so many people.
The others whistled excitedly as the atmosphere in the booth reached its peak.
Seline’s expression brightened up. She had grown up with Suzanne and knew her like the back of her hand.
How could she possibly dance? She would totally embarrass herself!
Matthew’s dare was exactly what Seline wanted!
At the same time, Jenson frowned. Suzanne was such a prude that she was definitely going to embarrass herself onstage.
Seline looked at the crowd and said worriedly, “How about something else? My sister isn’t…”
She didn’t continue, but her hesitation clearly hinted that Suzanne didn’t know how to dance.
Matthew and the others couldn’t care less.
Kenneth was especially excited. “Who cares? We can’t be quitters, remember? Besides, Ms. Yates is a gorgeous woman herself. She only has to move a little bit for everyone’s eyes to be on her!
Marsha wished she could slap Seline across the face. Her twisted words managed to make all the men in the room incredibly excited.
She put down the glass in her hand and was about to decline the dare on Suzanne’s behalf when Suzanne reached out and stopped her.
Marsha turned to look at Suzanne only to see her looking back with a reassuring smile.
No matter how angry Suzanne was, she was holding herself back
Suzanne stood up. Without the slightest bit of hesitation, she said, “It’s just dancing. That’s easy.”
She spoke so self–assuredly that Matthew and the others immediately began clapping. “You’re so cool, Ms. Yates!”
The excitement in Seline’s eyes was practically overflowing. Suzanne didn’t actually think she was pretty enough to get any attention onstage, did she? When had she become so foolish?
Soon enough, she would be able to watch Suzanne embarrass herself.
However, she had to pretend to stop them. At the very least, Seline had to speak up so no one could blame her for Suzanne’s upcoming humiliation.
Seline walked forward and tugged at Suzanne’s arm as she pretended to say worriedly, “Please don’t go, Sue! Just take the drink as a punishment. We’ll be embarrassing Daddy if you do it!”
Suzanne paused. She looked back at Seline and leaned closer to her, saying in a voice that only the two of them could hear. “Do you feel like you missed the time the bodyguards got beaten up and you didn’t?”
Seline’s expression Immediately changed as she let go of Suzanne reflexively.
She would never be able to forget how all the bodyguards were on the floor after getting beaten up
Seline didn’t dare to say another word.
Suzanne had already walked toward the door as everyone scrambled to follow.
Downstairs, Suzanne greeted the man at the console.
The music stopped as everyone turned to look at the stage.
Suddenly, the music started again as Suzanne walked onstage.
She had worn a button–up and skirt that was clearly inappropriate for such a performance.
She untucked her button–up and unbuttoned the first few buttons in front of everyone in the audience.
She then pulled the shirt tight behind her back and tied the corners Into a knot, showing off her slim waist. Her outfit went from typical office wear to a sexy, flattering ensemble in the blink of an eye.
