The Yates family should let Suzanne go, as that would allow Alan to exploit the opportunity.
He then said, “Just consider it. As long as you marry me, you can be in charge of all allairs of the Alvarez family, no matter how big or small ”
Alan’s tone was extremely earnest, leaving no hint of jest.
After a brief pause, he narrowed his eyes slightly and turned to look at Suzanne with some doubt. “Or is it that you already have someone you like?”
In the next instant, Suzanne swiftly inserted several needles in succession, and a wave of intense pain surged through Alan like a storm.
Alan immediately shut up. Now that there was finally some peace and quiet, Suzanne curved her lips up slightly.
Once she had finished everything, she stood up. She washed her hands and sat on a nearby couch, wiping them dry with a tissue. “I appreciate your goodwill, but I won’t consider a marriage of convenience.”
She figured it was best to make things clear for the sake of peace at home.
Alan frowned deeply, highly suspicious that Suzanne had made it hurt on purpose. At the moment, his whole body was in pain as if he had been tortured the pain far worse than last time.
Staring at her, he asked, “Did you just take the chance to get revenge?”
Suzanne chuckled softly. “If you’re talking about the misplaced needle earlier, I think you misunderstood me. You merely distracted me with your thoughtless words.”
Alan laughed in disbelief, his cold eyes glinting with icy sharpness
Nonetheless, Suzanne was unfazed. Smiling faintly, she looked at him again. “As for the rest, I was just doing my job. Perhaps you’ve become less tolerant of pain since last time.”
Though Suzanne spoke casually, her tone had an undeniable hint of intimidation that made Alan waver for a second.
She was the most commanding woman he had ever met, and the bearing she had was typically something only men exuded.
Suzanne was undoubtedly special.
As Alan opened his mouth to speak ap
again, Suzanne cut him off with a firm tone, “Right now, I suggest you focus on your recovery. Talking too much might affect the treatment’s effects,”
Alan was speechless. She was the first person who would dare to fool him so boldly,
Nonetheless, Alan really did stop speaking.
It wasn’t until half an hour later, when Suzanne removed all the needles, that he glanced at her with a faint smile. “Are yo

narrowed. “What nonsense are you talking about?
you afraid of me?”
“You tried to fool me into staying quiet. Also, you flinch when you touch me as if you just got shocked, and you keep your distance. I’m pretty sure I’ve never drunk your blood before.”
During the treatment just now, Alan could clearly
ly feel that Suzanne was more resistant and distant than during their previous session.
He stared at her intently, whereas Suzanne merely gave a faint smile. “You can interpret it that way if you’d like, Mr. Alvarez. I just hope we have no further interaction beyond the doctor–patient relationship.”
Suzanne didn’t give him a chance to respond as she packed her things and left the Alvarez residence.
Alan watched her walk away until she was out of sight.
The film set was bustling with people, lively and chaotic,
Everyone was busy with their respective tasks.
Marsha was sitting in front of the monitor. As she watched the footage from the previous scene, her frown grew deeper and deeper.
Slamming the script onto the nearby table, she yelled angrily, “Damn it! Do you not understand what I’m saying? I want raw, natural emotions, not this forced, still performance!”
This scene had already been shot ten times–pach take more awkward than the last.
The midday sun was blazing, making everyone more irritable.
Marsha let out a heavy sigh, slumping into her chair. Her expression grew darker as she stared at the monitor, anger radiating off her in waves. The atmosphere on set was tense, and no one dared to make a sound.
