Chapter 95
The sound of the door o
opening echoed, freezing the movements of Austin and Aaron.
Sante’s face appeared in front of them, and after a quick glance at the situation outside, she calmly said, “The treatment is finished. You can go in nove.
Aaron and Felicia wasted no time and rushed into the room
Austin, however, remained where he was, his gaze falling on Suzanne. He saw her give a slight nod in his direction, and for the first time in a long while, his furrowed brow relaxed.
Without a word, Austin stepped forward, his movements smooth as he took Suzanne’s hand.
She was momentarily taken aback, Instinctively glancing down at their hands, but Austin led her inside without saying anything more.
Inside the hospital room, Felicia rushed to the bedside, abandoning her usual composed demeanor as all her focus shifted to Yasmine
With tears in her eyes, she looked her daughter up and down, her voice tinged with worry. “Yasmine, bow are you feeling?”
Yasmine grabbed Felicia’s hand and nodded enthusiastically, her face radiant with joy. “Mom, I can move my legs now!”
Felicia let out a heavy sigh of relief, nodding excitedly in response. “That’s great. That’s fantastic news.”
Aaron, standing nearby, was stunned. Yasmine could move her legs now?
Did Suzanne really know medicine?
Instinctively, he glanced toward Suzanne before staring at Austin
Recalling how rashly he had acted earlier, he felt awkward, but that awkwardness quickly gave way to overwhelming relief. The burden seemed to have lifted from his shoulders, and he felt lighter, more at ease.
Turning to Suzanne, Aaron said eamestly, “Ms. Yates, thank you very much.”
At this moment, he was genuinely grateful to Suzanne. He had won this gamble.
a
Suzanne hadn’t expected such a formal thank you. She paused for a moment before giving a slight nod. “There’s no need for that, Mr. Stanton. It’s just my duty as a doctor.”
Emma clapped her hands happily, zlegling “I knew Aunt Suzanne would definitely cure Mommy! You’re so amazing, Aunt Suzanne!”
The atmosphere in the room became much wanner, thanks to her words
Only Timothy sat quietly, his expression unreadable as he stared out the window, saying nothing
On the other hand, Yasmine smiled at her daughter without correcting her this time, letting the term “Aunt Suzanne” stand unchallenged
Suzanne, watching Emma, found herself growing fonder of the little girl. It she could, she thought, perhaps she would want a daughter of her own someday.
A daughter of her own…
She instinctively looked at Austin, but his expression was no different from usu
Suppressing her thoughts, Suzanne returned to the matter at hand and stepped forward. “Mr. Stanton, you’ll need to do the follow–up care. I’ll let you know which of her acupoints needs to be massaged.”
Aaron immediately agreed, “Sure.”
Suzanne made sure to explain everything thoroughly, from the specific acupoints to the pressure techniques.
Once she was done, Austin finally looked at Suzanne. His voice was calm as he said, “Let’s go.”
Suzanne, a bit surprised, looked at him and asked in a low voice, “Aren’t you staying to keep her company?“”
Yasmine’s condition had just improved. She could use her family’s presence.
Austin shook his head slightly. “She has plenty of people to keep her company.
Suzanne hesitated for moment. His profound gaze seemed to imply that while Yasmine had family around, Suzanne didn’t
A strange feeling stirred in her chest, but she said nothing.
As she turned to leave, Felicia called out from behind her, “Suzanne, when will you come over for dinner at our place?”
Suzanne paused, then turned back with a smile, replying, “Next time, definitely.”
Belore Felicia could say anything else, Suzanne spoke up once again. “I’ll take my leave now, everyone.”
Everyone looked at her with complex expressions. Without waiting for a response, Suzanne left with Austin
As the door closed behind them, Felicia turned around and shot a harsh glare at Timothy, who was sitting in the chair.
