Chapter 99
After a brief pause, Suzanne slowly said, “I want to make something for Austin”
Only treating Austin to a meal seemed insincere. After all, that was something money could easily buy.
Rita was a little surprised but quickly replied, “Sure! Mr. Hall likes.
She rattled off a list of Austin’s favorite dishes, and Suzanne nodded as she mentally took note of each one.
Concerned about Suzanne’s cooking skills, Rita gently offered, “Is there anything I can help you with, Mrs. Hall?”
She didn’t want Suzanne to feel awkward if she wasn’t confident in the kitchen.
But Suzanne shook her head, politely declining the offer. “No need, Rita. You can go about your tasks now.”
Rita couldn’t bring herself to leave.
What it Suzanne accidentally hurt herself while cooking? Austin would be heartbroken
With a warm smile, Rita said, “I don’t have much to do right now. I’ll stay and lend you a hand.”
Suzanne nodded in agreement this time. “Okay.”

Suzanne lowered her gaze, hiding all these memories deep in her h
Once the finished cooking, she packed a portion for Austin and left the rest at home before heading out the door.
Rita stood at the door, watching Suzanne’s car drive away, her face beaming “Finally, Mr. Hall is in for a treat.”
Suzanne’s car came to a stop at a red light.
She glanced at the food container on the passenger seat, a small smile playing on her lips.
Just then, her phone rang, The caller ID showed that it was Shane.
She answered, “Is there new work?”
On the other end, Shane lounged in his chair, legs propped lazily on his desk. His voice carried a lighthearted tone. “Not exactly. The variety show has confirmed everything. It’s happening in three days. Will your schedule allow for it?”
Even through the phone, Suzanne could sense Shane’s good mood.
Taken aback, she asked in surprise, “That last?”
She had thought it would take longer to finalize things.
Shane swing his leg on the desk with a smug smile. “Of course! They’re eager to have you on board, so now that they’ve got the chance, of course they would spred things up,”
