“It’s you and your boyfriend who showed up uninvited to my event. And by the way, Quentin is my fiancé.”
Alice glared at Quentin, her eyes full of barely concealed desire.
She adjusted her hair and softened her voice.
“Quentin, let me introduce myself. I’m the eldest daughter of the Hunts. You might not know your fiancée well, but she and Justin were already planning to marry each other.
“When Justin had to leave abruptly, she turned around and got engaged to you. Is this the kind of loose woman you want? Who knows, maybe she’s pregnant and looking for a father?”
Her words stung and I turned to look at Quentin.
He remained as calm and composed as ever, but his words were sharp, each one cutting through the tension.
“I don’t care about your grievances in Marina Sands but if you continue to spread rumors about my fiancée, the Hunts will never have a place here in Arcania.”
The weight in my heart disappeared as I watched Quentin defend me so fiercely.
I fixed my gaze firmly on Alice.
“What urgent matter did Justin have? It was you who said you injured your leg. How shameless can you be? You stole my boyfriend before, and now you want to steal my fiancé.
“But you’ll be disappointed this time because Quentin and are about to get married.”
Alice’s face turned pale, and she trembled, unable to speak
Justin looked at me in disbelief.
“How can you marry another man? You told me you loved me and that you’d marry me! I love you–come back to Marina Sands with me, and we’ll marry right away,” he demanded.
I shook my head. “That’s impossible. I’m not interested in being a substitute for your ‘perfect woman.‘
“By the way, wasn’t it because you wanted to marry Alice that you broke up with me? Now that the issue is settled, I’m marrying Quentin, so you and Alice can go ahead and marry each other.”

“No! What’s this nonsense about a ‘perfect woman‘? I don’t want that, I only want you. Please, give me another chance!”
Alice lost her composure as she heard Justin deny her place in his life.
She grabbed Justin by the collar and shouted, “Who are you calling nonsense? What do you mean by that? Didn’t you say something completely different last night?”
“This isn’t the time to discuss that,” Justin muttered.
“No, you have to clarify it now!”
And so, the once affectionate pair started fighting fiercely in the venue.
The scene was intense.
I waved my hand at the bodyguards, and the two were dragged out.
Quentin gently wrapped his arm around me.
“Nothing to see here. Let’s go home.”
