She looked rather pitiful.
“Quentin, don’t be fooled by Viola. She loves Justin and has always wanted to get back together with him. Be careful or you’ll lose her to Justin.”
–
Quentin didn’t even look at her.
“I don’t know anyone as full of malicious schemes as you. I’ve told you before that if you spread any more rumors about my fiancée, the Hunts will never have a place in Arcania. You’ll have to face the consequences of your actions now.”
Alice’s face turned pale as she glared at me, tears brimming in her eyes.
“You’re nothing compared to me, Viola, yet you keep stealing my men. What’s your secret? Is it your skills in bed?

I looked at her in disbelief.
“Are you out of your mind? You think about men all day long. Now that Justin, that trash, is yours, why don’t you take care of him? He belongs in the trash, so go deal with it

Chapter 9
Alice stepped forward, ready to cause a scene, but Justin suddenly appeared, blocking her. “Don’t listen to her nonsense, the baby she’s carrying isn’t mine,” he explained.

“If it’s not yours, whose is it? If you think about the timing, it was conceived the day you proposed to me. My poor child, his father doesn’t want him…”
The day of the proposal? They were even more disgusting than I had imagined.
Justin shoved Alice roughly to the ground. He was almost in tears.
“Please, don’t marry him, Viola. Give me one more chance. When we were together, we were so happy. If we get back together, we can be happy forever.”
I took a deep breath, trying to suppress my anger.
“Justin, ever since you threatened the lives of the cats and dogs I saved, there’s been no possibility between us.
“You’re not some God that you can do whatever you want. Stop bothering me. If you keep at it, the Nolans might even go bankrupt.”
The bodyguards quickly restrained Justin and Alice.
Quentin and I successfully registered our marriage that day.
Our wedding was grand, attended by all the elite figures from all over Arcania.
My friends from Marina Sands also came, stunned by the changes in me.
“My friend is actually a rich heiress!”
“Mrs. Langley, I am at your mercy!”
“I’ve made it in Arcania now that I’m connected to both the Langleys and the Smiths!”
And of course, my friends were eager to gossip about Alice’s recent predicament.
“Alice had a paternity test and confirmed that the baby was Justin’s. The Nolans reluctantly acknowledged it, but they only registered their marriage without holding a ceremony.”
“After getting married, Justin lived a life of excess, and Alice argued with him often. After one particularly heated argument, she miscarried. They divorced soon after. Quick marriage, quick divorce–what a mess.”
I laughed it off, treating it like a joke and soon forgetting about it.
During the wedding, Quentin solemnly lifted my veil and kissed my lips.
“I love you forever, in this life and the next,” he vowed.
