Chapter 113
Joanna was far more complex than she appeared. Noticing Hayden’s silence and his unpleasant expression, Yosef carefully asked. “Mr. Parker, among my daughters, which or do you truly like?”
He was currently rather bewildered. Hayden had married Yvonne, yet he had scarcely been at home in the past year.
Worse, upon his return, rumors were circulating about him and Joanna, although it was difficult to ascertain the depth of their relationship. As a man, Yosef couldn’t understand Hayden’s thoughts at all.
Upon hearing these words, Hayden, who had been deep in thought, suddenly appeared troubled, with his deep eyes growing cloudy. “Don’t you even know who my wife is? Despite the quietness of his voice, it carried an air of commanding authority that startled Your F
“I do know, it’s Yvonne. Hot you.” He was about to ask further, yet upon seeing Hayden’s somber expression, he promptly bir back his words.
Clearly not wanting to commue the conversation. Hayden called the driver. “It’s late, like my father–in–law home.”
“Yes. Mr. Parker” the driver nodded and made a ‘please‘ gesture to Yosef. Yosef opened his mouth but couldn’t say anything, so he just followed the driver out
The influence of the Parker family made him wary, along with the fear of upsetting this wealthy man.
After Yosef left, Hayden remained alone in the living room for quite a long time. He looked up at the spiral staircase and observed that there had been no sign of sounds since Yvonne had ascended it.
All of a sudden, the house seemed extraordinarily quiet… After a long period of hesitation, he still lacked the nerve to go upstairs. With a sigh, be loosened his collar and then sink unto the sofa.
He had brought Joanna back because she had been looking after him for an extended period, practically saving his life.
But now he discovered that it was Yvonne who had been taking care of him all along. And then he recalled the previous incident involving the coffee as well
Hayden felt as if a cat were scratching at his heart, causing a misture of pun and an odd ticklish sensation. However, Yvonne was resolute about getting a divorce, whereas he was wavering
The hours dragged by as he remained seated on the living room sofa throughout the night. When dawn broke and he heard the sounds of the staff bustling about outside, he finally rose in his feet and inquired, “What are you all doing so early!”
“Mr. Parker, it was on Mr. Parker’s instructions. She knew that sometimes you have a liking for pasta in the morning, so we need to get everything prepared early, the servant responded.
“I haven’t actually been having pasta of bare. Hayden stated, knitting his brows slightly. Having been away for a year, he had grown used to having regular breakfasts and monly consumed andwiches and bread in recent times
“It was what Mrs. Parker instructed, and we wouldn’t dare to be negligent, so we prepare it every day, the staff member said, keeping his head bowed and refraining from saying more.
Hayden fell silent again, then after a moment, he asked, “Did she say anything eber
“Mrs. Parker informed us that you work late in the study. We ought to go to bed early and maintain silence during the night. She also noted that you dislike the cold in winter, so the heating should be set to a high level
“Additionally, given that you preferred Iceberg lettuces, she requested that we procure the finest ones from the farmers during the winter season. Once they initiated the conversation, the servants and maids found it difficult to cease. Yvonne had issued numerous instructions, and every single one pertained to Hayden. They were well aware of the great extent of care Yvonne lavished upon Hayden.
A Hayden listened to all of this, his jawline gradually tensed. He had never been cognizant of the fact that Yvonne had done such a vast amount
“She” Hayilen parted his lips, feeling that he ought to inquire about something. However, after pausing and hesitating for quite some time, he simply couldn’t come up with the appropriate words,

The servants watched on, looking rather perplexed. Eventually, one of the senior servants summoned up the courage to say, “Mr. Parker, during the year that you were away, Mrs. Parker took excellent care of managing the household. She was constantly looking forward to your return…”.
The servant was advancing in age, and last year, her arthritis worsened, rendering it difficult for her to walk. Instead of dismissing her, Yvonne arranged for her to be taken to the hospital and assisted her in finding a competent doctor,

They had all reaped the rewards of Yvonne’s kindness and wished for her and Hayden to enjoy happiness together.
They had wimessed all the occurrences that had taken place within the house recently. Even though they didn’t dare to probe into these matters, being experienced individuals, they had a clear understanding of what was transpiring
Hayden gazed at the group of people before him, all singing Yvonne’s praises. Reflecting on all that she had done for him, his heart, which had once been so calm, was now stirred and could no longer revert to its former state.
But what could be possibly say to them in the end, he could only dismiss them with a resigned sigh. “Go ahead, get back to work.”

The servants exchanged looks and then, somewhat reluctantly, went their separate ways. After all, matters of the heart were such that only offer advice, not make decisions on behalf of others.
The spacious living room fell silent once again. During times like these, emotions usually run higher than normal. Hayden remained downstairs throughout the whole night. It was exceptionally quiet.
The following day. I rose extremely early. There was a company gathering that evening, and I had to try on wedding gowns with Lucy in the afternoon. That morning, I needed to take care of Martin’s matters, thus, my schedule was rather hectic

Curiosity got the better of me, and 1 walked closer to see it was actually Haylen. I stared at him blankly, thinking it must be my imagination.
Could the esteemed heir of the Parker family have spent the whole night on the sofa! In front of him on the coffee table were several empty bottles, scattered around…

“Did you sleep here last night?” I still couldn’t believe it. Did he actually have to sleep on the couch?

If word of this got out, people would think I was so dreadful that Hayden would rather choose the couch… Hayden looked at me once more said, “I had a bit too much to drink and didn’t want to bother you.”
