Chapter 170
He saw Yvonne appear right before his eyes.
She was bathed in a faint light, like a spirit of the night, elegant, agile, and captivating.
Yvonne you, you’re not dead” Hayden asked, choking back his words, unable to believe his eyes.
But Yvonne just looked at him coldly
“Go back,” she said, her pale face devoid of color.
“No, come back with me!” Hayden raised his voice, stubbornly reaching out to grab her.
But every step he took forward, she took a step back
It was as if there was an insurmountable gulf between them.
Yvonne… He called her name, his voice softer than ever before. “I’m sorry..
He wished that he could go back ten years.
He would have been by her side before she had the chance to pursue him, taking good care of her and cherishing her.
Unfortunately, it was just his foolish wish.
Yvonne just stared at him coldly. “Between you and me, we’re even. You don’t need to be sorry. The past ten years were my destiny. And I don’t owe you anything anymore. I wish you well.”
After these words, Yvonne turned around and, like a bright light, quickly ascended towards the surface of the sea
Grief–stricken. Hayden shouted after her, “Yvonne!”
He opened his eyes again, only to find himself lying in a hospital bed.
Richard and Nevin were both at his bedside. “Hayden, you’re finally awake! You really scared me!”
Hayden breathed a sigh of relief.
Richard’s eyes were filled with tears. “Mr. Parker, the doctor said you fainted from exhaustion. If you don’t eat something, how can you hold on?”
He never thought that someone as strong as Hayden could be so weak.
In just a few days, Hayden’s face turned pale, and his eyes lost their former luster.
Hayden didn’t hear what they were saying at all.
He only remembered Yvonne telling him to go back in his dream.
He thought, Perhaps… this is what she wants
After an unknown amount of time, he moved his dry lips. “Have you found Yvonne?”
Nevin and Richard both fell silent.
The two of them looked at each other, neither daring to speak for fear of upsetting Hayden.
In fact, their silence was the best answer.
The room suddenly fell unnaturally quies.

Nevin motioned to Richard with his eyes. “Say something quickly!”
Richard looked at him back and motioned. “You say it!”
As the two were shifting the responsibility back and forth, Hayden suddenly spoke. “Call the rescue team back, and get ready.
10 return tomorrow,”
His indifferent voice echoed through the room, as if he had exhausted all his strength.
Nevin thought he had heard wrong and asked uncertainly, “Hayden what did you just say? Are we going back?”
“Yes” Hayden nodded patiently and then looked at Richard. “Prepare some food.”
Richard’s eyes widened. It took him a few seconds to recover and he almost cried with joy. “Yes! I’ll go and prepare it right away!”
Nevin watched him run out of the room happily, walked up to Hayden with a puzzled look on his face, and asked, “Hayden, how did you suddenly come around?”
Before, no matter what they said, Hayden wouldn’t listen.
He thought, ‘Could it be that Zachary convinced him somehow?”
Hayden lifted the quilt, got out of bed, and gazed out the window.
I dreamed of Yvonne.” He spoke slowly, his voice filled with tenderness. “She told me to go back.”
Nevin froze in place.
He realized that the corners of his eyes kept twitching-
He thought, ‘It was useless for so many of us to persuade him for several days, but Yvonne’s words in a dream convinced him.
Good heavens, I suddenly feel useless.
He didn’t complain but looked at Hayden with distress.
“Hayden, have you liked Yvonne this whole time?” he asked suddenly.
From the moment he saw Hayden vomit blood for Yvonne, he had truly considered Yvonne his sister–in–law.
He felt that he should have done that earlier.
Hayden frowned slightly and glanced back at him.
Nevin sighed lightly. “I should have known. If you really hated her, how could you kiss her? I just don’t understand. Why were you so distant from her if you didn’t hate her?”
If it weren’t for this, he wouldn’t have dared to bully Yvonne like that.
He thought his guess might be wrong, but the next second Hayden told him. “It’s just that I didn’t know how to approach her.”
Hayden had never faced his feelings so squarely as he did at this moment.
Zachary was right to call he a coward. He was afraid even to admit that he loved someone.
Nevin was stunned for a moment, then fidgeted like a child who had done something wrong. “I’m sorry, Hayden. I wasn’t very
nice to Yvonne before…
Now that he understood Hayden’s feelings, he would naturally accept Yvonne.
Unfortunately, he understood too late. Yvonne was gone.

Hayden patted him on the shoulder, but said nothing more.
The cruise ship returned the next morning.
Ethan was never found, as if he had vanished into thin air.
His disappearance also told Hayden that Yvonne’s death was definitely not a simple suicide.
Night gradually fell, and the sea was quiet.
Lucy leaned against the window sill of the guest room, looked into the distance, and sighed softly. “Are we going back just like this? We didn’t find Yvonne, and Dylan is gone too…”
Knowing that she was sad, Yasir poured her a glass of wine. “Dylan was really something. He just jumped down like that.”
I knew he really liked Yvonne. Lucy took a sip of wine and sighed again. “It would have been great if he had met Yvonne earlier. She wouldn’t have had to suffer so much”
“They are not meant to be.” Yasir comforted Lucy, his tone tinged with distress. “You haven’t had a good rest these few days. Your parents must be worried,”
“Yvonne is gone just like that… How can I rest… Lucy choked up as she spoke.
She and Yvonne were so happy when they came out,
Now she was going back alone.
Yasir looked at her tears, and his heart ached.
Unconsciously, he took her into his arms and gently stroked her back. “Don’t cry. Your eyes will be swollen if you cry
anymore.”
Lost in her grief, Lucy hadn’t noticed how close they’d gotten.
The awkwardness they’d once maintained out of politeness had gradually disappeared.
Yasir smelled faintly of grass, which was rather pleasant.
