Chapter 192
If this had been three years ago. Yasir would have laughed at the thought of Hayden doing something so cheesy in secret.
But now, all Yasir could do was sigh softly and say, “The month Yvonne had her accident, the whole of Elysiumville was buzzing that you were about to remarry. Yet, three years later, you’re still refusing to get married or even date. You don’t even have a woman by your side”
He paused, then glanced up at Hayden.
“Does Yvonne know you’ve been celibate for him?”
What had started as a conversation filled with sadness suddenly shifted into something far more teasing.
Hayden shot him a cold, threatening look, his eyes narrowing in warning.
“You came here just to tell me this?” Hayden asked.
“Of course not.” Yasir immediately became serious again, pulling out a chair to sit. “Do you know about a company that recently arrived from abroad? It’s called Jethive Group.”
“Are you bored lately?” Hayden raised an eyebrow, eyeing him. “You seem to know every company coming to Elysiumville”
“No, this one’s different. Jethive Group is mysterious. I’ve asked around, and from what I gathered, they started abroad and in just three years have expanded across all of Microsunland’s commercial sectors. I checked with some of my contacts overseas, and they said it’s not something to overlook,” Yasir said, his voice tense with urgency. “They even acquired Hogcast Construction
Hogcast Construction had previously partnered with the Parker Group. It was a reputable company, one of the top players in Elysiumville
If they were acquiring a small company, that would be one thing, but swallowing up Hogcast? That had shaken the business community.
“Oh?” Haw
Hayden raised an eyebrow, interest flickering in his gaze. “How much do you know about Jethive Group?”
“Not much” Yasir stood up, suddenly animated. “That’s the thing–it’s hard to figure out. You know how today’s businessmen are all about showing off their skills, flaunting their power. But Jethive? They’re the total opposite. I’ve asked around a lot, and all I could find out is that the CEO is a woman. How old is she? What does she look like? No one knows anything. It’s like a mystery.”
Hayden set the file he was holding down, leaned back in his chair, and squinted thoughtfully. “You couldn’t even find out anything?”
The Gibson family’s information network wasn’t as vast as the Parker family’s, but it was no slouch either.
If even Yasir, with his resources, couldn’t get any intel, it meant Jethive Group was truly something special.
“Exactly,” Yasir nodded, still frowning. “I have no idea who’s behind it.”
Hayden smiled faintly, a cold, calculating glint in his eyes. “If you want to find out, why not have her meet us?”
Yasir blinked, trying to process the idea. “How do we get her to meet us?”
“Next week, the Wavepeak Stadium land in the economic development zone is up for auction. All the major companies are eyeing it. Since Jethive Group just came to Elysiumville, they’ll definitely want to stake their claim on this prize, Hayden said with a knowing smirk.
The moment the words left Hayden’s mouth, Yasir’s eyes lit up.
Chapter 192
“Of course! Jethive Group is so powerful, they’d definitely want a piece of that We’ll finally meet this mysterious woman! Yasir sand anddenly eager to see who this clusive CEO was “This should be interesting”
With that problem solveil. Yasir’s mood lightened considerably
“Got time this afternoon? Want to go skiing?” Yasir suggested, the idea of hitting the slopes lifting his spirits.
“It’s too much of a hassle Hayden’s cold response was final.
Yasir nearly choked on his own words. He clenched his teeth for a moment before letting out a resigned sigh
“Alright, alright. If you’re too busy, 171 just take a half–day off for my girlfriend. She’s been working herself to the bone lately, getting thinner by the day. Maybe you could do something about her boss?” Yasir said.
“She can take her own leave, can’t she?” Hayden replied, his voice colder.
Yasir, sensing the tension, quickly clarified. “Don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to interfere with your company’s business. But her boss, Zachary, he’s a real problem. Favoritism, abuse of power. It’s starting to bleed into the company. If you don’t address it, it could cause issties.”
The name Zachary made Hayden’s expression darken.
Yasir shivered, almost physically feeling the change in atmosphere.
“Zachary’s been living pretty well these past few years,” Hayden said, his voice chilling
“When are you going to deal with him?” Yasir asked, genuinely curious. He had expected Hayden to have gotten rid of Zachary by now, but nothing had happened.
It didn’t sit right with him.
“Not yet.” Hayden said curtly, not willing to elaborate.
“Guess I’ll never understand what’s going on in your head, Yasir muttered, a little annoyed. He waved his hand and turned to leave. Tll leave you to it.”
After Yasir left, Hayden’s gaze returned to the photo frame on his desk.
In it. Yvonne’s smiling face seemed to mock him, reminding him of everything he had lost.
Her smile was always so pure, so radiant. How had he never noticed that before?
It wasn’t until he had lost her completely that he realized, somewhere along the way, Yvonne had become a part of him—a part he could never let go of.
Lost in thought, he rose, pulling on his heavy coat. Today was the anniversary of Yvonne’s mother’s death. He needed to go visit her grave.
Outside the city, at the cemetery, the mountain was high, the air cold, and the sky was overcast, Snowflakes began to fall, painting the world in white.
Yvonne stood before Sienna Stout’s grave.
“Yvonne, your mother loved daisies, huh?” Dylan said, bending down to place a bouquet of daisies on the grave. He carefully adjusted the flowers, making sure they were just right.
Yvonne looked at the flowers with a soft, tender gaze.
“Yes. Mom always said daisies symbolize purity and peace.” And hidden love.

“I like them too,” Dylan said, standing up and smiling at the photo on the gravestone, “Sienna, I’m Dylan. Don’t worry, Yvonne’s been eating well. She’s recovered from childbirth, and she runs three miles every day. She’s practically a
superwoman now,”
Yvonne couldn’t help but laugh at his words. “What superwoman only runs three miles? You’re going to get me laughed at.
“It’s impressive, alright?” Dylan grinned, then became serious. “I don’t care what anyone says, to me, you’re the best at everything.”
If she didn’t know better, Yvonne would have thought he was trying to flatter her into doing something
“Mom, don’t listen to him. Your daughter hasn’t been a good one. I’ve been abroad for three years and just now come back to see you. Your little grandson has a cold right now, but I’ll bring him to visit you next time.” As she spoke, her voice trembled, betraying the emotions she had kept hidden.
It had been three years, and she was finally back in Elysiumville.
