Chapter 193
For the past three years, not a single moment has passed without my thoughts consumed by revenge.
Countless days and nights, I’ve gritted my teeth and pushed through.
Now, I’ve built my own power, my own company. Finally, I can face all those who once hurt me.
Snowflakes drified past my eyes, yet my gaze remained unwavering
“Mom, all the wrongs you suffered, I will make them right
I clenched my teeth and made a vow before my mother’s tombstone.
an knew what had been weighing on my heart these past three years, and now he spoke up, “Sienna, don’t worry. I’ll protect Yvonne. I won’t let anyone hurt her.”
“No one can hurt me anymore, I replied slowly, my voice full of confidence and certainty.
I wasn’t the same soft target from three years ago anymore.
“True.” Dylan nodded, a smile playing on his lips. “Yvonne, aren’t you sleeping–walking anymore?”
“Yeah. After having the baby, I’ve been healing a lot,” I said, surprised by my own words.
Before, back when I was still single and had those endless nightmares with Lucy about my fears of motherhood, I thought raising a child would be an unbearable torment.
Of course, in many ways, it still was. But alongside that torture, I was healing.
The child’s pure, unconditional love was slowly mending the cracks in my heart.

It was precisely this love that kept me going and helped me carve out a space of my own in a foreign land.
Just as I thought of this, Marlon’s call came through. “When are you coming back? I’ll pick you up.”
“No need. Dylan and I will head back in a bit. It’s snowing, and it’s cold up here.” As I spoke, I instinctively tilted my head to the sky.
The bodyguard holding an umbrella behind us took a small step back, giving me more room to look up at the vast, falling snowflakes.
The scene was like a painting.
“Marlon’s upset that Dylan’s always following you?” he asked, his voice tinged with irritation.
“He’s just worried about me,” I smiled and responded.
Three years ago, when Dylan traveled abroad with us, Marlon gave him a very strange look during the flight.
In the days that followed, the two of them couldn’t stand each other, and I often had to mediate.
Marlon paused for a moment before getting to the point.
The Wavepeak Stadium land I mentioned to you earlier is going up for auction next week. I’ve got something else to deal with, so you’ll have to go.”
He and I co–founded Jethive Group, and he’s the company’s vice president, deeply involved in all aspects of its operation.
Yet now, he was handing this responsibility off to me?

I was a little surprised. “Me”
This wasn’t abroad–Elysiumville was too familiar to me.
If I made an appearance, the entire city would likely go into a frenzy.
Marlon knew this too, but he wasn’t worried–in fact, he was almost eager.
“Since you’ve come back, it’s time for a grand entrance,” he said with a smile.
I glanced at him, no hesitation in my decision. “Alright, I’ll handle it.”
“Come back soon. We’ll have dinner together tonight,” Marlon said before hanging up.
I put my phone away, and Dylan, looking at me, asked, “Did he talk badly about me again?”
“Yeah, told you to get a real job,” I nodded. “You’re a PhD in psychology. Aren’t you going to put
that to use?”
“I’ve been putting it to good use these past three years, Dylan said confidently. “You’re not sleep–walking anymore, you don’t feel nauseous at mealtimes. That’s all thanks to me.”
I remembered how tough those first months had been, adjusting to a new culture, morning sickness, and fluctuating
hormones.
But Dylan was there every step of the way, helping me, guiding me, until things gradually started improving
“You’ve really earned your title of hero,” I teased him. “Maybe I should open a psychology clinic for you?”
I had always wanted to repay his favor,
Dylan furrowed his brow at the suggestion, then shook his head. “Not yet. I don’t have enough experience. I’m afraid I’d ruin my own reputation. Let’s talk about it later”
“Alright. Whenever you’re ready, let me know,” I said, agreeing easily.
These three years, I’d learned to relax both within myself and in my relationships with others.
I no longer forced anything: 1 let things flow naturally.
“Don’t worry, I won’t be shy with you,” Dylan said, his face always glowing with hopeful smiles.
He was always happy, lighting up everything around him.
We said our goodbyes to my mother’s grave and began our descent.
The cemetery was halfway up the mountain. The car could drive to the entrance, but we still had to walk for about ten minutes to reach the gravesite.
The road could’ve been built directly into the cemetery, but they hadn’t, perhaps to allow the living to express their sincerity toward the departed.
Before long, the snow began to fall even heavier.
Dylan took a larger umbrella from the bodyguard and held it over both of us. The snow was so thick, I could hardly see the path ahead.
And at that moment, Hayden appeared, holding a black umbrella, coming toward us from afar.
In the heavy snow, the scene was blurred, as if wrapped in a fog.
Both of us had large umbrellas that completely blocked out the view, and the wet, slippery ground made everyone cautious

with their steps.
To be honest, on a snowy day like this, no one would pay attention to the stranger walking past, especially Hayden, who always haid someone in his heart, oblivious to the world around him.
But in the brief moment we passed each other, both of our hearts seemed to stir.
Hayden lightly touched his chest, a frown knitting his brows.
That fleeting pain he felt–what was it?
But he didn’t stop, continuing to walk forward.
I, too, felt something stir in my chest.
I paused.
This feeling… it was unfamiliar.
Dylan noticed my sudden stop and looked at me curiously. “What’s wrong?”
His voice was soft, quieter than the falling snowflakes.
I shook my head and quickly composed myself. “Maybe I’m just hungry. Didn’t eat much for lunch, been busy with work.”
“Well, let’s head back then,” Dylan said with a smile, holding his hand out. “Yvonne, let’s walk together. It’ll be faster.”
“Don’t underestimate me,” I chuckled. “You forget, we’re going skiing later!”
“Slow down, Dylan called out behind me. “You’ll get soaked in the snow.”
I smiled, walking ahead with no particular thought, just trying to ease the awkwardness of rejecting him.
Some people were just beyond love.
Having walked quite a distance ahead, Hayden suddenly turned back when he heard our laughter and chatter behind him.
