I looked up, seeing the secretary holding a box full of clothes. I had almost forgotten about the auction at Wavepeak Stadium
this afternoon.
Dylan smiled and said. “You go ahead and handle that. I’ll go pick up Waylon and take him home.”
“Alright.” 1 nodded, watching him leave before letting the stylist enter.
“What kind of look would you like to go for, Chairman?” the stylist asked with a smile.
1 fixed my gaze with a touch of ruthlessness, curling my lips into a slight smirk. “I want to dazzle everyone’s eyes.”
In Waveprak Stadium Auction, the land up for bid was a prime example of government–business collaboration. The winner wouldn’t just walk away with a profitable venture–they’d also forge connections with high–ranking officials, making future development in Elysiumville an unstoppable force..
Not only local businessmen, but even those from neighboring cities had shown up to join the frenzy.
That land is truly a gem. I wonder who’ll get their hands on it today.”
“Who else could outbid the Parker family? The Parker Group is definitely going to win it.”
“Really? I was hoping for a chance to get in on it too.”
“You can forget about that. Our goal here is to network with the big shots. Just being here is a win.”
A group of people were gossiping at the entrance, joking that even if they didn’t get the land, it would be a good opportunity to meet the powerful figures in the room.
As soon as Yasir and Lucy walked in, they overheard the conversation.
They exchanged a glance and both smiled.
“Not planning to give it a try?” Lucy teased.
“Nah, our family doesn’t deal with construction. It’s better to leave the professional stuff to the experts. Besides, who dares compete with Hayden? You know how rich he is,” Yasir shrugged with a grin, making it clear he had no intention of bidding.
He was here to watch the show, and then he added, “By the way, have you heard about Jethive Group? They’re also here for the auction. I’m curious to see what the female CEO is like.
“Female CEO!” Lucy raised an eyebrow. “Is she pretty?”
A woman in love tends to be possessive, and Lucy immediately became alert whenever she heard Yasir mention another
woman.
“How would I know? I’ve never seen her, Yasir shrugged, completely oblivious to Lucy’s growing suspicion.
Lucy pouted, clearly irked. “Sounds like you’re eager to meet her.
“Of course! If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t even be here today. I’ve heard Jethive Group started abroad, and in just three years, they’ve taken over Microsunland’s market. It’s a legend, Yasir continued, his tone full of admiration.
Lucy’s face darkened, her jealousy simmering. Unable to hold it back any longer, she ground her heel into Yasir’s foot.
“Ow!” Yasir howled, clutching his foot.
Lucy didn’t care about him anymore, snorting as she marched into the auction hall.
“Lucy, you…” Yasir attempted to stop her, but the pain from his foot made it impossible to chase after her. He hopped on one

“Speak of the devil, and here he comes, Dylan glanced at me, his expression bemused.
“Tell Mr. Parker that when I have time, I’ll be sure to pay him a visit,” I replied nonchalantly, my gaze void of any emotion.
The secretary blinked, but quickly nodded and said, “Understood.”
Once the secretary left. Dylan turned hack to me and asked, “Are you really going to meet him?”
Of course,” I smirked slightly. “Though I doubt he’ll be brave enough to see me when the time comes”
Dylan’s gaze hardened for a moment, but he didn’t press further. Instead, he sighed and said, “I checked–Joanna’s become a reporter. Your dad’s got himself some money and started a new company; looks like it’s doing well. Oh, and Sophia gave birth
My eyes froze f
for a second before I scoffed, “Didn’t expect her to become a reporter.”
“Apparently, a chief editor took a liking to her. She’s been rising fast these past years, gaining a bit of fame, Dylan replied.
“What about her and Lucy? Are they still in touch?” I asked.
Dylan shook his head. “It’s not easy to get personal details that fast, but I’ll try.”
“Alright,” I muttered, sitting back in my chair, my expression hardening.
The office fell into an uneasy silence for a moment. Then, Dylan moved closer and softly asked, “You didn’t mention your What about his son…?”
‘I don’t want to know,” I interrupted him, furrowing my brows.
Yosef had long ceased to be a part of my life, and I had no desire to involve myself in his matters.
dad.
Dylan sighed, seemingly seeing right through me. “You care more than you let on, don’t you? But understanding them is key to winning. Sophia’s son was born with congenital issues. He spends more than half of his time in the hospital, and it seems like he might need a bone marrow transplant.”
I hadn’t wanted to hear any of this, but now that I had, I couldn’t pretend I didn’t know.
“Is it that serious?”
“That’s what I’ve heard. I checked with my senior who’s a doctor–he said without a transplant, the child won’t last much longer,” Dylan explained slowly.
I gritted my teeth, unsure what to say.
Yosef had been so desperate for a son, willing to divorce my mother and even sacrifice my life…
And now, after finally having a son, he….
No matter what, the child was innocent.
“Did Joanna and Quinn try to donate?” I suddenly asked.
“They say there was no match,” Dylan shrugged, his voice laced with helplessness. “The family members couldn’t match either. It’s just bad luck for the kid.”
Just then, the secretary knocked again.
“Chairman, the stylist has arrived.”

foot, holding onto the wall as his face turned red from the pain.
Just then. Nevin walked in and spotted Yasir, his face flushed and contorted from the pain. He couldn’t help but laugh. “Well well, you’re blushing today. What’s the occasion?”
Yasir glared at him, “Shut up”
“Only Hayden can make me shut up. Not you,” Nevin smirked, shaking his finger in the air, full of pride.
Yasir looked up and saw Hayden entering the room. In a flash of desperation, he cried, “Nevin’s bullying me!*
Hayden glanced at him, then simply turned away without saying a word.
Yasir froze in place, speechless.
Nevin burst out laughing. “I told you….”
Before he could finish, Yasir had already stomped on his foot in retaliation.
“Ow!” Nevin yelped, his voice high–pitched.
Yasir limped forward, a smug grin on his face, while Nevin was left behind, wincing in pain and pounding the wall in frustration.
Damn Yasir. He would get back at him for this.
Yasir caught up with Hayden and, gritting his teeth, asked, “We’re brothers, and you just walked away like that? No loyalty.”
Hayden gave him a sidelong glance and nonchalantly said, “I sent an invitation to the CEO of Jethive Group. She refused to meet with me.”
