Chapter 205
The auctioneer stretched his neck, staring at us for a long time, looking a bit dazed. Put, being the profesional he was, he quickly regained his composure and announced, “400 million dollars, once. 400 million dollars, twice, 400 million dollars, three times. Sold:
But, being the professional he was, he quickly regained his composure and announced, “400 million dollars, once, 400 million dollars, twice, 400 million dollars, three times. Sold
The moment the hammer fell, Zachary stood up, his brows furrowed as he glanced in my direction
It seemed like it just hit him–he’d paid so much more than necessary for the Wavepeak Stadium, didn’t he?
“Let’s go.” I said, rising without hesitation, ready to leave.
Just then, I felt a tug on my wrist.
It was Hayden pulling me back.
“Yvonne, let’s talk,” he said.
I’m sorry, Mr. Parker, but my schedule is full today. If you need anything, you can contact my secretary? I replied coolly, without looking back as 1 walked away.
The indifference and coldness he once showed me? I was returning it all to him, piece by piece.
As I exited the auction, Lucy rushed to catch up.
“Yvonne, wait!”
Marlon had already opened the car door for me, and when I heard Lucy’s voice, I turned, my eyes flickering with a faint shine. What is it?
“Yvonne, are you mad at me? Joanna and I aren’t what you think we are,” she said, gripping her hands tightly, her eyes red and slightly swollen.
We found a coffee shop, where she confided in me that three years ago, Joanna had gotten involved with a well–known editor in the industry, and through him, she met Zack.
Though Zack seemed sharp, he had no reservations about women, and it didn’t take long for him to be deceived.
Lucy, for Zack’s sake, had feigned niceness toward Joanna while secretly trying to gather evidence of her wrongdoing,
After we cleared the air, the phone rang from the hospital–Ethan had woken up.
It turned out that the USB drive Ethan had given Lucy had been swapped. Even though Lucy had managed to decrypt it, there was nothing on it.
But Ethan had kept the real video, and with Dylan as a witness, we went to the police. Joanna was quickly arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Sophia’s son, sadly, did not survive. She went mad, clutching his lifeless body, telling anyone who would listen how obedient and cute he was, saying he was going to grow up to be president.
As for Yosef, he ended up in prison as well.
He sent word through his lawyer that he wanted to see me. After much hesitation, I decided to go.
When I saw him again in prison, he had shaved his head and was dressed in prison clothes. He sat on the other side of the glass, his eyes glistening with tears as he looked at me.
Yvonne, I’m sorry…” he began.
I stared at him calmly. “Did you and Sophia kill my mother?”
“No… no, I didn’t. Your mother…. she really did commit suicide,” Yosef choked on his words. “I’m a bastard. I betrayed your mother, but I never intended to kill her. Sophia just sent her a photo of us together and said some provoking words. That’s all.”
The answer, though painful, brought me some peace. At least the hatred that had been festering inside me didn’t grow any deeper.

Chapter 205
“Yvonne, I didn’t want to leave you to die alone… It’s just that…” Yosef tried to explain, but his words faltered as he realized he couldn’t justify his actions anymore.
1 looked at him, and surprisingly, all the bitterness from the past was gone from my heart.
1
“It was your choice. I don’t blame you. I remember you once said that after this, our father–daughter bond would be severed. I hope you meant that,” I said calmly, standing up to leave.
With that, I turned and walked away, leaving the past to fade away.
Dylan had started working at a hospital, hoping to accumulate experience before eventually opening his own clinic.
1 respected his decision and occasionally brought Waylon to visit him.
Zachary, who had won the Wavepeak Stadium land, was initially elated, but soon found himself facing a liquidity crisis and turned to Hayden for help.
Hayden bought out all of Zachary’s shares in the Parker Group, effectively making him leave the company for good.
Six months later, Lucy and Yasir had married, and she was quickly expecting. With her large belly, she wasn’t as mobile, so I brought small cakes for her to cheer her up.
“Lucy, cake…” Waylon fed her a spoonful of strawberry cake.
“Such a good boy,” Lucy said, gently patting his little head. Her eyes softened with love. “I hope my baby will be as obedient as Waylon.”
“Your baby couldn’t possibly be anything but good,” I smiled and shared some tips on childbirth with her.
Her eyes widened. “Is it really that painful? Should I go for a natural birth or a C–section?”
“Depends on the indicators. Don’t worry, I heard Yasir arranged the best hospital for you,” I reassured her with a smile.
“It’s still going to hurt, huh? Oh, being a man is so much easier, just waiting to be a father,” Lucy grumbled, clearly frustrated.
She sighed again, thinking of Yasir. “If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have to go through all this.”
Waylon, who seemed to enjoy the conversation, leaned over and pressed his ear to her belly, mumbling he wanted a baby sister.
It made both Lucy and I burst into laughter.
Just then, Yasir came in, carrying her favorite roasted chicken.
“Mrs. Parker, aren’t you staying to eat? I saw Hayden and Marlon’s cars outside waiting to pick you up,” Yasir said, as he unpacked the roasted
chicken.
“Both of them are here?” Lucy’s curiosity piqued as she craned her neck to look at me.
I sighed and corrected Yasir, “Hayden and I are divorced now. You can call me Yvonne.”
“But I heard Hayden say he didn’t sign it. The signature on the divorce papers was his mother’s, and you guys aren’t even really divorced,” Yasir said confidently, as if he had all the facts.
“Really?” Lucy was stunned. “Yvonne, then who are you choosing?”
I didn’t respond. Waylon suddenly jumped into my lap and said, “Mommy, let’s go home.”
“Okay.” I smiled, gently lifting him into my arms, nodding at Lucy and Yasir as I turned to leave.
Waylon felt so comforting in my arms.
Suddenly, he asked, “Mommy, do you like Marlon or Hayden?”
After Joanna was jailed, Hayden had learned about my son.
Waylon had met him before, and it seemed they were quite close, probably due to the blood connection.
“Waylon, who do you like?” I asked, turning the question back to him.
Waylon thought for a long time before answering, “I like both.”
“Such greed!” I chuckled, pinching his little nose, just as I spotted two cars parked outside–one from Hayden, the other from Marlon.
Both men had gotten out of their cars, their eyes fixed on me and Waylon, with the golden rays of the setting sun casting long shadows behind them.
The end.
