Chapter 51
It was obvious that Joanna had stolen Hayden away, so wain’t Nevin a bit out of his mind?
Xander didn’t even focus on that, after bearing what Hayden said, he got so mad that his beard practically stood on end. “What do you ‘stolen You’re still just a kid! You’re just asking for a beating. Go stand ourside!”
mean
My eyes narrowed slightly. Over the years, the Parker family had hardly used any form of punishment other than picking watercress. Standing outside was something I hadn’t seen before,
Nevin bared his teeth, completely unwilling to admit he was wrong. “If you want to!” He turned and bolted for the door
“Every damn day, you’re the most troublesome one, Xander said, tossing two books at Nevin’s back as he left.
Nevin patted his butt and walked out, unfazed.
Xander felt his blood pressure rising and leaned against the desk, feeling a bir dizzy,
“Grandpa, are you okay!” Hayden hurried over to support hum
Xander shook his head, his gaze falling on me next. Yvonne, the Parker family owes you an apology. I can’t believe this kid… By the end of his sentence. Xander’s jaw clenched tight.
He knew this little grandson caused trouble all the time, but he had no idea it had gotten this out of hand.
“It’s all in the past. Fin not taking it to heart,” I said slowly, shaking my head. I never expected the Parkers to give me any kind of explanation. They were all Parkers; who would really stand up for me, an outsider?
Sometimes, it’s important to know one’s place. If Hayden hadn’t brought it up.
I wouldn’t have mentioned it at all.
Tonight, It
But Xander was someone who cared deeply about face and reputation. If he didn’t know about this, that would be one thing, but now that he did, he wouldn’t just let it slide.
He sighed and sat back down, taking a long time before he spoke again. “When your grandfather passed away, he entrusted you to the Parkers. Now I have let him down.”
I couldn’t help but think of my grandfather. I had begged him to compromise and negotiate the marriage with the Parkers, but right then, I felt such regret. He must have been disappointed in me loo. Even if he were lying on the ground now, my actions probably kept him from resting peacefully.
opened my mouth, ready to say something, but Xander pulled out a file from the drawer. “This is the blueprint and related documents for the Pax Occana. Take it as compensation from the Parker family”
His sudden offer took me by surprise. I don’t need this. Deborah already gifted me a villa, and 1… They really were a family that liked to use material things to make up for everything.
“Since childhood, that brat Nevin hus been spoiled rotten. I know he’s gotten into fights. Regardless, you’re still his sister–in–law, to help him out,” Xander added.
Now I began to understand; the Pax Oceana wasn’t just compensation for me, but also something to protect Nevin. It was said that the fax Oceana was a luxury cruise ship under the Parker Group, and its annual entertainment revente exceeded hundreds of millions.
Xander was seriously throwing down a lot of resources this time… but I had long since wanted to cut ties with the Parkers entirely. “I can’t accept this” In other words, I wasn’t going to help Nevin
Xander froze in his chair, his piercing gaze darkening a few shades.
Hayden, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly spoke up. If Grandpa is giving this to you, then just take it.”
1 looked at him in surprise, and before I could ask anything, Hayden shoved the blueprint into my hands and quickly told Xander, “Grandpa, Yvonne understands your good intentions. We’ll handle this mater ourselves”
“All right.” Only then did Xander nod, satisfied.
“Then well take our leave. After that, Hayden took my hand and started to walk out
As soon as we reached the dour, I yanked my hand away from his. “What are you doing! I don’t need you making decisions for me. I was a bir angry, why did he think he could seeept things on my behalf?

Chapter 51
Hayden turned to me, his charming eyes boring into mine as he spoke slowly and deliberately. “So, what do you want to do? Tell Grandpa that you want Nevin to go to jail”
“He needs to face the consequences for his own mistakes.” I replied, furrowing my brow and raising my voice a bit. A few maids passing by nearby turned their heads to look at us.
I didn’t care anymore; I was already at a breaking point. But it was Hayden who yanked me away.
Back at Rosy House, I headed upstairs to take a shower. As I looked in the mirror. I noticed a big bruise on my lower back that was throbbing faintly. I hadn’t really noticed it earlier…
1 wanted to grab some ointment to ease the pain when Hayden suddenly barged in. I hurriedly pulled my shim down to cover the bruise, irritated as I snapped, “What’s your problem? Can’t you knock?”
“This is my house,” Hayden shot back, catching me off guard. He frowned and added, “Pull your shirt up.”
“What?” I thought I misheard.
Hayden shot me a cold glance, his fingers reaching for the hem of my nightshirt.
I instinctively pulled back and questioned him, “What are you doing?”
There’s a bruise on your back, he said slowly, eyes still fixated there.
I froze for a moment, then realized he must’ve seen in when he walked in. My expression darkened, and coolly replied. “It’s none of your business.”
I’ll call the doctor,” Hayden said quickly,
I’m not that delicate 171 just put on some ointment,” I shot back. 1 definitely didn’t want to make a big scene in the middle of the night…
He paused for a moment, then suddenly offered. Thi help you u put on the nintment.”
1 widened my eyes, not processing it fast enough before he snatched the ointment bottle from my hand. Hayden was genuinely trying to help me.
“I can do it myself, 1 said, refusing
“Are you afraid of Grandma finding out? Or are you just scared of me? His deep, enigmatic eyes seemed to draw me in.
I scoffed, “Scared of your Come on Hayden, that’s just wrong. Isn’t it always you who avoids me?”
Hayden frowned, falling silent, I thought he might finally give up, but then I suddenly felt a chill against my lower back.
“You.” I wanted to scold him, but a finger pressed gently against the bruise. I winced in pain and gasped.
I had thought those bruises only looked scary; I hadn’t realized how much they actually hurt. Nevin was like a raging bull, his strength was absurd. Hayden paused, raising his voice in frustration, “Why didn’t you say anything? You’ve been putting up with this all day!”
1 casually turned to take back the ointment from him. “Am I supposed to bring it up just so you guys can mock me?”
I tried to head for the bathroom to apply the ointment, but Hayden grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to him. “Yvonne, do you really see me this way?”
“Isn’t it true?” I retorted, bracing myself for his dark gaze and the shadow looming over me, as if it were blotting out the sun.
