Yasir looked at Hayden like he was about to kick the bucket or something
It wasn’t that Yasir was being dramatic, but ever since Hayden started wearing that rosary bracelet, his health had been getting better every day.
At first, Yasir thought it was just some old superstition, but now he actually believed in it. Without that rosary bracelet, he felt a little off.
Hayden shot Yasir a sharp look that made it clear that he wasn’t in the mood for jokes.
Yasir froze for a second, feeling a chill run down his spine. He quickly scratched his head and looked away.
“… I’m just worried about you, man. Didn’t you forget what the master said? He told you not to take off the rosary bracelet. It can always keep you safe? Yasir said.
“It wasn’t me. The rosary bracelet broke on its own, Hayden said in a low voice. That day, while he was struggling with Yvonne because of the drug. the bracelet snapped
“Wait, it just broke?” Yasir said, his mind wandering to some inappropriate thoughts. He leaned in with a grin. “So, you’re free from the whole celibacy thing? You can be with women now? He didn’t get to finish before Hayden shot him a death glare.
“Well, let’s get more drinks.” Yasir quickly raised his glass and took a sip. He thought Hayden had no romance in his life. Sometimes he even wondered if Hayden was really a man for putting up with all this for so long.
But Yasir’s reminder made Hayden realize that since the rosary bracelet broke, he had been intimate with Yvonne.
Before, he’d brushed off any woman in front of him. But lately, he couldn’t help but feel something for Yvonne, and that fiery, hot feeling was hard
to ignore.
“Could it really be because of the rosary bracelet? Hayden furrowed his handsome brows, lost in thought. Otherwise, he couldn’t explain why his feelings for Yvonne had changed so suddenly
Picking up on the tension, Yasir leaned in closer. “Did something happen!”
Not surprisingly, he got another fierce glare from Hayden, who then said, “Aren’t you leaving?”
Yasir almost choked. “You’re kicking me out now? Are you that ruthless?” Kicking him out after finishing a drink felt pretty cold.
Hayden stood up and said. “There’s a guest room downstairs. Help yourself. With that, he disappeared around the corner.
Yasir was so mad that he could have crushed the wine glass in his hand, thinking how awful Hayden was. He downed the last of his wine in frustration, stood up, and was ready to leave.
But just as he took a step, something clicked in his mind. His eyes darted around, and he decided against leaving. He swaggered over to the quest room, thinking he might as well get a good night’s sleep first
Up in the bedroom, Deborah had been by Yvonne’s side for what felt like forever, until she could barely keep her eyes open. Finally, Rita convinced her to get some shut–eye
Yvonne was by herself in the big bedroom. The balcony door was ajar just a bit, and the night wind was sneaking in, messing with the white curtains, swirling them around like they were doing a little dance..
Hayden felt a strange pang as he watched the scene. With his hands behind his back, he stood there, his deep eyes fixed on Yvonne, who was sleeping peacefully in the bed. Her face was unusually pale like it was carved from ice–cold and white.
Flashes of recent moments with her played in Hayden’s mind. He felt himself losing control and getting angry easily. It seemed all his emotions were at her mercy.
His bare wrist was a constant reminder of what had happened between him and Yvonne that day
Breaking the long silence, Yvonne murmured in her sleep. Hayden Her soft voice, tinged with a hint of crying, reached Hayden’s ears.
The question that had been bugging him for ages finally got an answer. His usually cool and good–looking mug now had a tiny twitch, and his deep eyes had a hint of softness.
Without a second thought, he instinctively moved forward and sat by Yvonne’s bedside, gendy soothing her. “I’m here:

Yvonne, who should have been fast asleep, seemed to have really heard his voice and reached out to grab at the air. Seeing this, Hayden offered his
hand
Yvonne clutched his hand as if it were a lifeline, quickly turning over and holding it tightly to her chest.
The moment the soft touch hit him, Hayden jolted and then relaxed into a thin smile. Perhaps he didn’t even notice the hint of indulgence in his smile
Looking at Yvonne’s furrowed brows, Hayden reached out with his other hand and gently patted her shoulder. The movement was a bit awkward. yet it miraculously soothed Yvonne. She was no longer as panicked and afraid as before, and her brows gradually unfurled.
Hayden’s body was getting numb, so he tried to pull his hand free to adjust his position.
As soon as he moved, Yvonne clutched his hand tighter and murmured uneasily. “Don’t go.” Those two simple words melted Hayden’s cold heart in an instant.
“Alright, I’m staying” he said, and he couldn’t believe that he had agreed, and just like that, he sat by Yvonne’s bedside, motionless.
One could fake what they say and do, but they couldn’t fake their gut feelings.
It was tonight that Hayden slightly realized his feelings for Yvonne had changed. Or perhaps he had never disliked Yvonne from the start. He just didn’t know how to interact with her.
