Chapter 80
The vast bedroom fell into a suffocating silence.
No one spoke. Even the sound of breathing seemed to have stopped.
At that moment, my heart quietly shattered.
Everyone must think that Hayden and I were making love.
I didn’t know how long we had been frozen like that, but then Hayden suddenly broke the silence with a dry, indifferent tone. “How much longer are you going to keep staring?”
Deborah’s wrinkled face finally twitched “Rita, didn’t you say Hayden was sick!”
Rita trembled, quickly lowering her gaze to explain. “Mrs. Parker, L. I made a mistake.”
“Well then, let’s leave.” Deborah cleared her throat lightly and calmly turned to leave
Rita hurried to assist her.
The servants quickly came back to their senses and followed after them.
In an instant, everyone had exited the room.
The last one, with good sense, quietly shut the door.
This time, the sound of the door closing was much softer.
I had already turned to stone, unable to move. It wasn’t until Hayden reminded me, “If you keep pressing dosen like that, my wound might never heal,” that I realized I had been lying on his injury all this time,
“Why didn’t you say anything earlier?” 1 jumped up in a panic and quickly adjusted my clothes.
Hayden’s white bandage didn’t have any blood on it, so it seemed like there wasn’t much to worry about
Besides, he was the one who pulled me over here, so it wasn’t really my fault
Hayden didn’t say a word, instead covering his stomach wound with one hand
Though it hadn’t torn, the pain was still inevitable.
1 pretended not to notice, turning to him. “What was that all about? You got everyone to misunderstand.”
“We’ve shared a bed for so long. What do you think they would misunderstand?” Hayden casually replied
I clenched my teeth, not bothering to argue with him. After putting the medicine kit away. I went to wash up.
When I returned and was about to lie down. Hayden spoke again. “I need to wash my
I frowned in confusion. There was no one else in the room. It was clear he was talking to me.
I turned my back on him, refusing to respond.
Hayden persisted. “Yvonne, I need to wash my face”
I’m not your maid Ask your maid to take care of you.” I snapped back, feeling the urge to kick him out of the bed.
I had never realized he could be this demanding
“My wound… it’s not something I want others to know about Hayden said as if it was completely reasonable
Fquickly thought of Joanna. She already knew about it
But to him, Joanna probably didn’t count as an outsider.
When I was lost in thought, Hayden urged again. Yvonne

“Are you done yet!” I glared at him, afraid he would keep me up all night. Despite my reluctance. I got out of bed and grabbed a warm towel for him, tossing it in his direction
After all the hassle, it was nearly midnight
I pulled the covers up and turned my back to him, yawning twice. I couldn’t fall asleep though, unsure why.
I had always sleepwalked before, but now even falling asleep seemed difficult.
Behind me, Hayden remained unnervingly quiet, not making a sound.
Outside, the sky lit up with several snake–like bolts of lightning, followed by a deafening thunderclap.
Boom!
Soon after, Hayden’s voice came from behind me, soft and faint. “Yvonne…
I furrowed my brow slightly but said nothing. I had no intention of responding.
It was late, and while he didn’t sleep. I still needed my
But Hayden didn’t say anything else, and the room settled into silence again.
That night, I couldn’t sleep
“What did he want to say when he called my name? I wondered.
In the end, I never got an answer.
The next day, I was supposed to go check on the cruise ship and handle some paperwork. But when I woke up, I found Hayden burning with a high fever, his body disoriented and hazy.
“Hayden“” 1 gently tapped his face and immediately realized something was seriously wrong. “You’re burning up. We need to see a doctor.”
Luckily, we had a doctor in the house. I was about to get up and call for help when Hayden grabbed my wrist with a strong gr

grip.
“If you don’t see a doctor, you’re going to die. Or you’ll burn your brain out” I snapped. I didn’t know he could be this stubborn
Somehow, Hayden found the strength to hold onto me, his grip tightening. Just give me some fever medicine
“If you die, don’t blame me, I muttered, getting up to find him some medicine
After taking the medicine, Hayden quickly fell into a deep, feverish sleep.
I was ready to leave and had just taken a couple of steps when I couldn’t help but look back at him.
If I walked out now, maybe he’d die right here, and no one would even know.
Forget it. Maybe I do owe him. I’ll look after him just this once, I thought to myself.
With a heavy sigh, I turned back and sat on the edge of the bed, texting Lucy
Yvonne: [I’m not going to the cruise ship today]
Lucy replied almost instantly like she’d been holding her phone: [Why! Something came up?]
[Hayden has a fever,] Lyped.
Lucy quickly sent a flurry of confused messages.
Lucy: [What does his fever have to do with you! Yvonne, don’t tell me you’re feeling sorry for him again! Think about what he’s done to you. You can’t let yourself get stuck in that mess again]
She was typing so fast.

Chapter 80-
It was as if she thought I’d fall into some irreversible trap if I waited just one second too long.
I couldn’t help but smile bitterly at her words and quickly typed back. [Don’t worry. I just don’t want him dying on me while we’re still married.]
As soon as I hit send, Hayden’s phone vibrated.
Curious, I pecked at the screen, thinking it might be something work–related. But then, I saw Jaanna’s name.
Joanna seemed to always call Hayden early in the morning.
Maybe she’d called last night too, and I just hadn’t noticed
Ilet out a sarcastic laugh, then withdrew my gare. Suddenly, something occurred to me. I grabbed Hayden’s phone.
After all, he was out cold, and there was no way he’d hear anything.
Even if he did, I wasn’t afraid
Maybe I could get more information from Joanna.
With that thought in mind, I quickly answered the call.
Hayden, when will you be at the office?” Joanna’s voice came through.
I scoffed. “What? Are you sending him another love breakfast?”
The voice on the other end became sharp and angry. “Why are you answering Hayden’s phone
“We’re married. He’s still asleep, so it’s perfectly normal for me to answer a call for him I shot back, deliberately trying to provoke her. “But you.. calling so early, what are you trying to do!”
“Don’t go throwing that around. Don’t think I don’t know that Hayden hasn’t even slept with you. You’re the one shamelessly trying to climb into his bed” Joanna snapped, her voice now dripping with venom.
When people were angry, they often let their emotions take over.
I wasn’t angry. In fact, I kept pushing her buttons. “From the sound of it, you think you’re the one with morals!
Trying to seduce a married man, playing the mistress with a big smile on your face. But how long do you think Hayden will like you?”
