No wonder 1 hadn’t wanted to return to the Parker residence when they were downstairs earlier. 

After a moment of contemplation, Hayden asked. “When did she come back?”

Deborah was returning to the Parker residence today, and if I didn’t leave now, I’d be dragged back there with her. 

I had no interest in those trivial matters at the moment. All I wanted was to focus on building my own career. 

I didn’t go to the office this morning. I missed the cruise ship inspection yesterday, so today I had to go check on in. 

By the time I arrived, Lucy was already waiting for me. 

“Hi, Yvonne! Over here!” Lucy spotted me from a distance and waved enthusiastically. 

I jogged over to her. “How do you always manage to get here so carly? 

“Hey, I don’t have a job keeping me busy” Lucy said with a grin, linking her arm through mine and playfully leaning on me. Thank goodness you called me out today. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know what to do with myself 

“You’re too relaxed. I’m kind of envious, actually,” I said with a smile. 

Lucy’s parents were loving, she had a brother who adored her, her family business was thriving, and she was stunningly beautiful. She truly had a blessed life. 

“Come on. Let’s go take a look at the cruise ship.” Lucy urged, tugging at my hand, eager to get going, 

The cruise ship had docked two days ago, and it was currently undergoing repairs to prepare for the next round of guests. 

When Xander had handed over the cruise ship to me, he’d already passed on the word. Now the staff on board knew I would be taking charge. 

But they weren’t very cooperative.

“Who?” Lucy peeked over her shoulder, curious. 

1 squinted at the massive Pax Oceana in front of us, which looked like a castle. I spoke calmly. “Richard, Hayden’s assistant, I’m coming alone today. 

“I’m not sure how the people here will react to me. They might not show any respect, so I need to bring one of Hayden’s people with me.” 

Normally, Hayden would have been the one to bring me here for the handover. 

First, because he was the heir to the Farker family. 

Second, because I was his wife in name. 

But I hadn’t asked him to come. I simply didn’t want to see him 

Even Richard was more tolerable than Hayden. 

“Okay” Lucy nodded, staying quiet and waiting with me. After a few moments, she added, “So, how are things going with Dylant

Before Lury could finish, a black Lincoln drove up not far from us. 

I squinted at the license plate, realizing it was Hayden’s car. 

I was just starting to wonder if Richard had borrowed Hayden’s car when the door of the driver’s side opened, and out stepped Hayden himself. 

“Why is he here?” Lucy asked, her voice full of shock, echoing the confusion 1 felt inside.
