Emma heard this but her expression didn’t change at all. She still smiled charmingly. “It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Gray. I’m Emma White. I’ve admired you for a long time and am so glad to finally meet you.” She struck her most flattering pose.
“Mm.”
After responding to her, my boss took my hand and went to sit down.
When Emma saw our joined hands, her face fell.
But she still followed right behind us, sitting down next to my boss.

Even though my boss had a cold expression the whole time, her enthusiasm didn’t diminish. She kept talking non stop – I couldn’t get a word in edgewise.
Towards the end, I really couldn’t take it anymore. I decided to go outside for some fresh air and clear my head.
As soon as I walked out the door, I saw Jack standing outside. I don’t know how long he had been there.
From that position, you couldn’t see inside, but you could see everything clearly from outside.
“You, why did you come here?”
Jack gave a self–deprecating laugh. “Why can’t I come? If I didn’t come, how would I see such an entertaining scene?”

“Are all you women so materialistic? One after another, you’re all the same. It’s laughable how devoted I was to you!” Jack grabbed my shoulders and demanded harshly.
Devoted to us?

I let out a cold laugh. Seriously, could he stop trying to act like some deep, devoted lover? It’s really annoying!
“Let go of me. We have no relationship anymore. If you don’t let go, I’m calling the police!”
“Call the police?” His grip suddenly tightened. “Do you hate me that much now?”
…Please, you just figured that out? Have you forgotten everything you did before?
“Let go quickly!”
I didn’t want to have any more entanglements with him.
“What are you holding onto me for? Your goddess is inside. Look carefully, don’t get the wrong person!”
Just as I finished speaking, Lucas came out from inside, with Emma following closely behind.
When Jack saw Emma, he immediately let go of me.
Seriously, if you like her so much, why were you grabbing and yelling at me just now?
“What’s going on?” Lucas came over and asked in a low voice, having seen what just happened.
“…It’s nothing.” I shook my head slightly.
I instinctively didn’t want him to know too much.

Jack seemed to remember something and puffed out his chest, glaring. “Who are you to tell me what to do?”
“Do you still want Shining City to cooperate with your company?”
Jack was stunned. “How do you know…”
His family had been having cash flow problems recently. They had finally found Shining City, and his dad kept talking about it at home. This was a crucial time, they were about to sign the contract.
