our them
After I was discharged from the hospital, Evie and I went back together to pack our things. We wanted to move out. Evie sorted out some of the daily necessities she had bought for Caleb. He never used them, so she ordered the servants to throw them out.
I could tell she was upset, so I hugged my best friend. “It’ll all pass, Evie. Our lives will only get better from here.”
She nodded with a smile. “That’s right. Those scumbags can wallow in their own regret, while we’ll live happily ever after!”
Her parents were furious to find out about her divorce. It was a marriage of convenience, after all, and the two families were business partners. They could not break things up that easily.
She did not want to hear their nagging at home, so both of us moved into the villa she had bought before her inarriage.
As we were cooped up on the couch watching a game show that night, Caleb called her. “Why did you take everything away?”
Evie blinked. “Are you crazy, Caleb? Why would I leave my things at your place? As a gift to your new wife?” Caleb was quiet for a few seconds, “I can’t find my white shirt. Come back and find it for me.”

With that, she was certain he had lost his mind. “We’re divorced! Forget your shirt, I wouldn’t find you even if you went missing.‘
Just then, Caleb was standing in the bedroom. The large cabinet looked strangely empty, even though her clothes were the only ones missing.
“Evie, I know you don’t really want to get divorced. You’re just doing this to get my attention, right? Well, you succeeded. You have two days to move back in.”
Evie was so angry she burst out laughing. I was flabbergated too. These brothers were both so narcissistic!
“Caleb, you sure are cocky to think I used a divorce just to get your attention. Listen, we’re divorced now, so we have nothing to do with each other anymore. I will never go back.”
Caleb asked, “Then if we get remarried again tomorrow morning, will you come back?”
