Raina Ward glared at me, seething. “Nina Woodson, this is all your fault! If
fault! If you had delivered my baby earlier, it wouldn’t have died. You owe me my child! Give me back baby!”
my
Dr. Leonard Caldwell, ever the opportunist, turned the situation against me. “Dr. Woodson, I’m formally notifying you: you’re fired from St. Grace Medical Center! Prepare to answer to the police!”
I couldn’t help but laugh at Raina’s shameless accusations. “Raina, do you even hear yourself? You know exactly why your baby didn’t make it.”
“What are you implying, Nina?” Caldwell demanded, his brow furrowing.
From his reaction, it was clear he didn’t know Raina’s baby was unsavable.
I leveled a pointed look at him. “Dr. Caldwell, you’re a doctor. You should know the consequences of skipping prenatal care, shouldn’t you?”
Caldwell paled but said nothing. Raina had told him her first child had been fine without checkups, so he had let it slide.
“You’re saying the patient hasn’t had a single checkup since she got pregnant?” Dr. Samuel Quinn interjected, his face etched with disbelief. “That’s reckless–absolutely reckless! She brought this on herself.”
“And let’s not forget,” I added, “that the baby had Down syndrome.”
In my previous life, I had always thought I was at fault for the baby’s death. Later, I had secretly examined the baby’s body. With my years of experience, I had identified the signs of Trisomy 21.
Quinn was astonished. “You figured that out just by looking?”
I smiled faintly. Of course, I couldn’t tell him was from my past–life knowledge. “Call it an instinct from years of practice.”

A reporter couldn’t resist speaking up.
“Dr. Woodson, you’re incredible! I’m newly pregnant–could you take a look at my baby?”
She extended her hand toward me, hopeful.
“You’re too early in your pregnancy for me to tell much,” I replied calmly. “Machines are far more reliable at this stage. Just make sure you stick to your checkups. If anything happens, feel free to contact me.”
“Thank you, Doctor!”
Not just the reporter, but even the online audience began to shift their opinion of me.
“My sister had a complicated labor once, and Dr. Woodson saved her. I can’t believe people were dragging her name through the mud.”
“Same here! When my family couldn’t afford treatment, Dr. Woodson covered the bill herself.”
“Look at her kindness radiates from her. How could anyone hate this doctor?”
“If this is true, I’m booking my next appointment with her. She’s a saint.”
“Totally recommend her! She treated me with so much respect during my exam.”
Ethan Rivers couldn’t bear the growing positivity surrounding me.
“Disgusting,” he muttered before storming out. Dorothy chased after him, cailing, “Ethan, wait! Ethan!”
Raina tried to follow but was stopped by Caldwell.
“Baby, I can’t hold back anymore. Leave Ethan. Be with me instead. I’ll forgive everything you’ve done. We’ll take care of the baby together just you and me, Caldwell pleaded.

“Let go of me!” Raina snapped.
For the first time, Raina found herself at rock bottom. Within three hours, she had lost over a million followers, and the internet was flooded with condemnation.
Later that day, as I wrapped up a surgery, Ethan walked into my office holding a bouquet
of flowers.
He knelt down on one knee.
“Nina, I was wrong. Please forgive me. I let that woman, Raina, fool me. Let’s move forward and build a happy life together.”
I couldn’t believe the audacity of his words.
He had been with Raina for ten years–ten!-while simultaneously being married to me. Now that their schemes had unraveled, he discarded her like trash and turned to me.
If something went wrong between us, wouldn’t he just move on to the next victim? What a heartless, calculating man.
“Ethan, you’ve received the divorce papers, haven’t you? I suggest you sign them quickly before you embarrass yourself further.”
“Nina, no! I swear I’ll never betray you again. Please, give me another chance,” he begged, trying to grab my hand.
I stepped back. “And what about Raina? You’ve been with her for a decade.”
