I was married to my husband for ten years Chapter 7

As a doctor and a mother who once carried life, I knew all top well what Tyler was doing behind that curtain

I slumped against the wall outside the room, overwhelmed by memories of being alone in hospitalsseeking treatment, being hospitalized, and recovering

When Tyler emerged holding a soiled diaper, I couldn’t bear to watch anymore. I turned and left

I didn’t go home. Instead, I went to my best friend’s house

However, it was her husband who greeted me. Behind him my friend sat in the living room, heavily pregnant and surrounded by family

I had hoped to pour my heart out to her, but seeing her glowing with happiness, I forced a smile and exchanged pleasantries before excusing myself

I wandered aimlessly through the streets, reminiscing about the time I had defied my parents to marry Tyler when he had nothing to his name. The memory felt almost hughable now

Unable to escape my turmoil, I took three days off from work and retreated to the seaside alone

ring that time, Tyler called me incessantly, but I didn’t answer

Once I finally returned, feeling somewhat steadier, I found him and Mindy in the villa, packing up their things

Tyler didn’t ask where I had been

Mindy, holding her baby, approached me hesitantly. I’m sorry, Sarah. Tyler told me everything. I didn’t know he was married

Thank you for being so understanding while he helped me these past weeks. I didn’t mean to cause any trouble.”

I stood frozen, unsure how to respond

Tyler walked over, placing an arm around my shoulders. I told her the truth, Sarah. I don’t want a divorce. You’re my one and only.‘

He leaned in and kissed me deeply

I hated him for the way he hurt me time and time again, only to offer just enough tenderness to pull me back

Though I hated myself more for being softhearted and always staying

Let’s go home tomorrow, okay? Mom’s been waiting for us.”

I looked into Tyler’s sincere eyes and calculated the remaining days of the divorce coolingoff period

Reluctantly, I nodded. Maybe, just maybe, things could change

Boy, was I wrong

The next morning, Tyler had the car packed and ready downstairs. Mindy followed me as we descended
