Seduction of my Mafia Stepbrother
Chapter 11 Try everything to find her.
Federico’s Pov
I was in my New York apartment, packing my bags, getting ready to be to the airport in next morning.
Suddenly, something crossed my mind. I sat down at my computer and arted typing, then called Luca over–my best friend and bodyguard.
“Luca, call our friends at the NYPD, I need to find someone,” I sakl, İsabling him a color–printed photo.
Luca studied the picture in his hand. “Who drew this portrait?”
“Al did, based on a detailed description I gave.”
“And does it look like the person you’re after? This portrait is gorgeous-
“The woman I’m looking for is even more beautiful.
He grinned. “You sure about that?”
“Oh, one more clue. Two nights ago, she went into a bar nearby, Pirates Bar. Try to get the surveillance footage around there. Maybe we can get a better picture of her.”
“Did she do something to tick you off? No, wait–in stead, it sounds you actually like this woman,” Luca sald, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, I do like her. That’s why I need to do whatever it takes to find her. I want to know everything about her.”
Luca shrugged and shook the paper in his hand. “Well, it might not be much to go on, but I’ll do my best. Or…do you have her DNA by
any chance?”
DNA! That night, I was covered in her DNA.
Except, damn it, I took a shower and cleaned all my clothes,
alked into my closet and grabbed a brown jacket.
Wait, I remembered something. I walked into
“This hasn’t been to the cleaners yet. Take it to a lab–there might be fingerprints, maybe even a strand of hair if we’re lucky.”
Luca shot me a look. “Woulda, coulda, shoulda.”

I glared at him. “You’re getting pretty bold, cracking jokes at my expense.”
Luca headed into the kitchen, grabbed a plastic bag, and put my jacket inside.
“But, sir, I have to remind you…even if you find her, it doesn’t mean you’ll get to be with her.”
That stopped me in my tracks. How could I not know that?
A memory stirred, bringing me back to my last doomed relationship.
How long ago was that? Three years? How could 1 call it “doomed when it ended so badly?
My girlfriend at that time was dragged into a dark alley, almost assaulted. Luckily, I got there just in time to stop it.

When I beat the guy to half death, he finally told me he’d been paid to all for her. After a long investigation, I found out the mastermind behind was none other than the LA Mafia Godfather.
That’s right, my own father ruthlessly hurt my girlfriend–just to contri, me,
I didn’t respond to Luca. I had to admit, I was conflicted.
I wanted to see het, to know her.
But I also knew I was heading back to LA, back to my father’s side, to come part of the Malin family.
For that woman–whose name surely wasn’t Enma–not seeing her ngith was the best protection I could give her.
Night fell, and Luca drove me out to the countryside. There was indeed unfinished business waiting for me in NY.
The car stopped in a wooded park. I walked into the trees, the leaves crunching underfoht. Soon, I saw a few shadows; they nodded to me.
in silence.
Kneeling on the ground was a man in a suit and tie.
“Mr. Black! Long time no see.
“Oh, Xir. Caposta, I didn’t do anything. Really, I didn’t do a thing.”
I slid my hands into my pockets. “You bought a new sports car does that count as ‘nothing“?”
“That was…from my pension. A wedding anniversary gift for my wife,”
“Sounds like you are a loving couple. How long have you been married?”
“Twenty–five years.”
“You must really love her. But I suggest to recall you also have a little apartment in Manhattan with a young woman living in it. Isn’t that
right, Luca? You’ve seen her.”
Luca nodded, saying nothing.
A gust of wind blew through, rustling ominously through the trees.
“No, please don’t tell my wife,” the man on the ground crawled toward me.
“I don’t care about your family, I care about my family. So, tell me, how much did you make this year?”
“My salary plus bonus–it came to about half a million.”
“Half a million, huh? That’s what the Caposta family spends on you on paper. But as the head of the NY division of the Caposta Family Fund, you haven’t exactly brought us a great return this year.”
“Mr. Caposta, you know how the market’s been–low returns on investments. You’d known better than anyone.
“Indeed, I am the expert, which is why know you’re lying.”
I kicked him to the ground and stopped hard on his hand with my leather shoe. He screamed.
“You snug rat. You think your low–level insider trading was going to go unnoticed?”

The man trembled on the ground, in great fear.
“I’m sorry, I made a mistake. 1–I didn’t know.”
“Didn’t know what? That I was watching you?
Even though we’d had a few dinners together here in NY, he’d always thought I was just some pampered rich boy, or maybe a black sheep disowned by the family.
He was just too arrogant.
“I’ll pay it all back. The car, I’ll sell it tomorrow.”
“It’s too late. You don’t have a “tomorrow.”
I lifted my foot to leave, but he let out a desperate cry and grabbed onto my leg.
“No, noble Mr. Caposta, please, give me another chance–I won’t do it again”
I raised my eyebrows at Luca. “What are
are you waiting for? Planning to use your paycheck to buy me a new pair of shoes?”
Luca stopped forward and gave the man a brutal kick, finally freeing my foot. I brushed off my pant leg.

I nodded to Luca.
“Make it look neat.”
heard his wailing start up again.
Luca nodded.
Behind me
“Let me call Riccardo! Let me call him! He’d never let you kill me!”
“You really

On the drive back, I was skimming the financial report on my pad.
Luca glanced over at me. “So, looks like you’ve decided to take the CEO position at the family hospital. Thought you’d go for managing the Family Fund.”
I smiled. “One step at a time. Starting in the right place matters. And I do have an attachment to that hospital–it’s where my mother spent her final days.”
Luca said nothing more, and the car drove silently through the dark night.
