Seduction of my Mafla Stepbrother
Chapter 12 Shadows of Radiance
Federica’s POV
On Riccardo’s big day, it was pouring cuts and dogs In NY, and my flight got held up for a good two hours.
Luca swing by to pick me up at the airport. I vras juggling between checking the stock market and shooting the breeze with him.
Lasked. “How’s the wedding shaping up?”
Luca, with his black wireless earbuds in, was busy chatting with the other guys on–site.
“Everything’s smooth, Sir. Mr. Caposta’s grinning ear to ear, Luca replic
“Good to hear. Marta make it?”
“Yeah. Mrs. Caposta’s a stunner, like straight out of a movie: But she’s not much of a talker. Maybe her English ain’t great.”
I chuckled. No way.
“Who’d Julia Davis bring along?” I asked.
“She didn’t invite anyone.”
That threw me for a loop, so I pressed Luca for more.
“Not a single soul?*
Luca nodded. “Yep, not a one.”
Last time I was in LA for a face–to–face with Riccardo, I met Julia and her knockout daughter, Emily, at the manor.
Julia was all about the compliments. She gushed over Riccardo’s deep love, the grandeur of the Caposta Manor, and the bling and dresses Riccardo showered on her daughter. She was clearly over the moon about the marriage.
Julia felt like she hit the jackpot marrying a rich guy like Riccardo at almost 60.
I could tell Julia
Back then, I wondered, was this a stroke of hick or a curse? Hard to say.
So, it was a shocker she didn’t invite her pals to flaunt a bit.
“Just Emily?”
Luca answered, “She’s got another daughter who showed up too.”
Julia’s got two daughters?1

The driveway at Caposta

Honestly, the light delay was a blessing in disguise. 11 gave me a legit ruse to skip watching Riccardo pledge his love to another woman. This was my linal nod to my mom.
Out of nowhere, a scream echoed from the woods on the other side of the driveway. I frowned and headed that way.
In the woods, I saw five or six guys in black standing around, all with their backs to me.
On the ground was a guy curled up, face bloody, and one arm bent all wrong. Another guy in black was whacking him hard with a big
stick.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
“Federico! You’re back!” The only guy sitting in a chair stood up. It was Antonio.
“My dear brother, you’re here!” He came over and gave me a big hug. “Come on, I’ll take yo
you to the wedding. Dad’s waiting to see you.”
I nodded. “No rush. I heard he’s thrilled with the whole thing. That’s all thanks to you.”
He beamed at my compliment.
I nodded towards the guy on the ground. “What’s his deal?”
Antopío seemed to just notice the beating as he siad, “Oh, punishing people is so dull. I dozed off in the chair! Drag him away. Don’t let my esteemed brother see this mess.“
I raised my hand to stop the two guys about to step forward.
“It’s cool. It’s your business. Finish it up. I’m just passing by and curious.
This guy couldn’t keep his trap shut and blabbed to a hooker about the wedding schedule,” Antonio explained.
Riccardo’s wedding was a big deal in LA high society. Probably hundreds knew the exact time and place.
So, no slip–ups allowed. This was about the safety of all the guests and the Caposta family’s rep

“Seems like you couldn’t keep your mouth shut, and you couldn’t keep it in your pants either.” I lifted my foot and stomped hard between the guy’s legs. The sound of a sharp crack echoed.
He let out a loud, pitiful scream and immediately passed out.
Antonio looked at me, jaw practically on the floor, and the whole scene went dead quiet for a few seconds.

Soon enough, the cleaners had the place looking spotless, like nothingver happened,
“Don’t sweat it. Everything’s under control. We’ve got eyes on the wedding site. Federico, come on, ton of hot girls here Lisday,” Antonio said with excitement.
I warned him, “They’re all daughters of LA’s elite. Dort mess around,”

He grinned, showing off those charming dimples, nud kept his arm around my shoulder. “I might not be able to, but you sure can! These clite families are dying to marry their daughters off to you.”
1 shrugged off his arm. “Cut it out, Antonio. I’ve got a lot on my plate,”
“I heard you’re gonna be the president of a hospital Is it ‘cause there are a bunch of hot nurses and doctors in private hospitals? He winked at me, jokingly. But I caught a flash of cold suspicion in his eyes
san My brother, Antonio, was one of the few family members I was close to, and he was the only illegitimate son with the Caposta name. Not because he was good–looking, but because he had a knack for making money, in his own unique way.
“Antonio, don’t put your shoes on my feet. The hospital gig is simpler compared to other ventures, a good starting point. After all, Iwas Just a school teacher before, and I need to ease into everything.”
He smiled again. Tederico, you’re too modest. You should just take over as the general manager of the family foundation.”
I explained, “The foundation is the heart of the family. I’m not ready for that yet. Dad’s still running the show.”
“No worries, joining the hospital is a good move. You’ll love it there.”
1 lightly slapped his face. “Enough talk. We’ve said too much. You just punished someone for blabbing. Don’t forget the Caposta family survival rules!”
Antonio made a zipping motion over his mouth. “By the way, our stepsister is also a surgeon. You’ll be colleagues soon,” he added,
“Emily? Didn’t she graduate from a finance school?” I was confused.
“Not her. Julia’s got another daughter named Sarah.”
I suddenly remembered what Luca had said earlier and nodded. For some reason, hearing that name made me uneasy.
‘She’s a real knockout. If she weren’t Julia’s daughter, I’d definitely go for her, Antonio stated,
I rolled my eyes at him. “If you keep thinking about women, you’re gonna get into trouble. Alright, I need to go congratulate Dad.”
With that, I patted his shoulder and walked alone towards the wedding ste
The wedding was even more boring than I imagined. Riccardo’s love story almost made me gag–especially since he genuinely believed he was a man of deep affection.
How could someone who constantly talked about true love be so eager to sleep around for decades?
After greeting a bunch of celebrities, I was about to sit down and have martini

A sharp female voice cought my attention.
I saw hillia not far away, arguing fiercely with a girl. The girl had her back to me. Her bare back showed off her beautiful and healthy body lines. She had a strong waist and a perky butt,
Antonio said there were many hot girls at the wedding, but I only had pes for this one. Yet, she looked oddly familiar.
Julia’s expression grew more intense, and she raised her hand to slap the girl.
Instinctively, I stepped forward to stop Julia. I didn’t want my father’s wedding to turn into a brawl, especially with the bride involved.
ght in front of me. When the girl who almost got slapped lowered her defensive arms, 1 looked at her face and was stunned. How could it be her? Emma!
The woman I had been searching for days with no luck, the woman I thought I would never see again, was standing right At my father’s wedding!
I tried to calm my racing heart and introduced myself to her.
What surprised me even more was that she was my stepsister!
I suddenly remembered what I had just said to Antonio, “If you always think about women.”
And of this moment, I was indeed thinking about a woman, just one. Emma Watson, no, Sarah Davis.
At that moment, I deeply felt that God was merciful. He brought a ray of light into my dark and cold life.
