I’m Getting Married 19

Seduction of my Mafia Stepbrother

Chapter 19 The CEO’s Office Rumors

Everyone’s eyes were glued to me as I crouched down, trying to sneak a like a cat borglar

I gave a sheepish grin to the crowd

Federico strolled over and said, Hoy Doc, I don’t think I caught your

I shot him a look and quickly replied, Sarah Davis, Intern doc. Nice to let you, Mr. Caposta.“

He flashed a charming smalle. “Ms. Davis, huh? Interesting lost name.gave me a look that said more than his words

I kept my mouth shut

Was it that hard to get? Sure, I wasn’t a fan of the last name Davis, but having Caposta as my last name would be a whole new level of drama. At the wedding, I heard Riccardo had like a dozen kids, but only three had the last name Caposta. And now, Emily was added to

That list

Federico didn’t push it but turned to the crowd. “So, can someone fill me in on how we hire folk

Everyone exchanged confused glances

folks around here?”

George cleared his throat and stepped up. He motioned for the other doctors to get back to work, leaving just the HR director and Hank

Then he stood next to Federico and said, Sir, Sarah Davis is an intern Decommended. She was my student at New York Medical College, and she was topnotch. Never scored below an A. She’s got solid practical skills and often helped me with teaching surgeries, a gig for the best students. After that, she got hired by NYHHC and worked there for about ten months. When she moved to LA, Dr. Brandt interviewed

her and checked her skills.”

Hank nodded in agreement

Federico nodded. Thanks, Dr. Wilson. Got it. Just curious, why did Dr. Davis leave her gig in New York after ten months and start fresh

here

Everyone’s faces changed. A few folks frowned, shrugged, and then looked at me

At that moment, I wished I could vanish. I wished I had never shown up Sweat started to bead on my forehead as I bit down hard

Federico, was he trying to mess with me? Embarrass me in front of everyone? Out of all the hospitals in LA, I ended up at the one where he’s the CEO. Just my luck

And seriously, why would the future heir of the Caposta family be a hospital CEO? Shouldn’t he be running some foundation or playing big shot on Wall Street

I cleared my throat, stood tall, and put on a smile. Sir, my boyfriend got transferred to LA by his company and will be here permanently. We didn’t want to do longdistance, so I decided to come back to LA and restart my internship. Oh, and Mr. Caposta, I grew up in LA. Coming back here feels like home, and I’m happy to be living a great life with my boyfriend.”

Federico sneered, Seems like Dr. Davis and her boyfriend are pretty tight. Best of luck to you both.”

Why

did I sense a tinge of jealousy from him

He turned and gave Dr. Wilson a pat on the shoulder, C’mon, Professor, Let’s hit up the finance department and check those reports

Chapter 19 The CEO’s Office Rumors

Hospital management isn’t my thing, but I trust you. An for the boring ancial stuff, leave that to me,”

A fere folks gathered around Federico as they headed up the escalator, leaving me atanding there alone

I watched his tall figure disappear and snorted

What an arrogant jerk! He didn’t even bother to say goodbye

I just announced to the whole hospital that I had a boyfriend. Chess Fedorion won’t be hugging me anymore

I let out a sigh of relief, but a tiny bit of sadness crept in. I’d never get be with a guy like him

I turned and made my way to the elevator, heading to the department here I’d start my job

Hank told me to shadow Dr. Morgen for a month to get up to speed with the cardiothoracic surgery team

Dr. Morgen wasn’t tall, had messy light yellow hair that didn’t qualify any hairstyle, and spoke super fast. His brain clearly worked eve Easter. Following him seemed like a good deal; he was obviously a genius doctor who lived and breathed medicine

The morning flew by, and Olivia, with her trademark enthusiastic smile, bounced over to me. Sarah, you done? Let’s grab some lunch. I’ll show you the cafeteria.”

I glanced at Morgen, who was scribbling away on a case report, hoping he’d give me a postop patient check. Honestly, Olivia’s enthusiasm was a bit much for me. I was used to being alone and doing everything solo. Back at NYHHC, I often worked until the cafeteria was about to close before grabbing a bite alone

But Morgen kept his nose in the case file and said casually, ‘Go ahead. Compared to public hospital cafeterias, PCCH’s is like a Michelin restaurant. PCCH is worth your hard work

I faked a cheerful tone and said to Olivia, Let’s go. Can’t wait.”

On the way to the cafeteria, I overheard people whispering about the new CEO. The name Caposta kept popping up. The whole hospital was buzzing with curiosity about Federico

Olivia leaned in and said in a mysterious tone, I heard the new CEO is still single!”

Oh, yeah, single. Not news to me

Then you have a shot! Olivia winked at me with a sly grin

Her comment caught me off guard

I don’t get what you mean,I asked directly

finitely catch his eye.”

You’re gorgeous; you’ll definitely

Turned out she was joking. I let out a sigh of relief and said, Before I joined, I heard one of the hiring standards for nurses was beauty. Today, I’ve seen it myself. I don’t think I can compete with them.”

No way, nurses and doctors are on different levels. As for female doctors, you’re definitely the most beautiful in the hospital, trust me. And did you catch the way Mr. Caposta, the CEO, was eyeing you this morning?Olivia suggested.

I was stunned. Did she pick up on

on something between Federico and me

I didn’t want anyone in the hospital thinking I had any connection with him. My palms started to sweat a little
