George’s gaze was full of indulgence as he gently swept Rachel’s hair from her forehead, tucking it behind her ear. His eyes gleamed with a deep affection, a look that could melt anyone’s heart.
The onlookers couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy.
“Wow, those eyes are killer.”
“He’s even more handsome when he looks at her like that.”
“Isn’t he better looking than Rocco?”
“Definitely. With a man like that by your side, who would care about someone as soft as Rocco? What’s the point of being a big star?”
“Exactly. To regular people, a celebrity is just a celebrity. To someone like him, what does it even mean?”
“I think this woman’s been too obsessed with celebrities. She probably thought Rocco was some kind of god. But look, he’s nothing compared to this guy.”
Gracie heard every word, her anger rising as she glared at Rachel, still nestled beside George. She couldn’t believe it. How could Rachel have moved on so easily and chosen another man? Was she really that indifferent to Rocco?
Since childhood, Rachel had always been like a shining goddess, adored by everyone, while Gracie had been nothing more than a background accessory.
It wasn’t until Rocco had chosen her that Gracie had started to gain confidence.
No matter how great Rachel was, Rocco had still chosen her.
That proved she wasn’t inferior to Rachel. After all, Rachel’s family background had given her a lot of advantages, but despite all that, Rocco had still picked Gracie. That meant she was better, right?
George snorted, wrapping his arm around Rachel’s shoulder as they walked away together.
Once the noise from the crowd faded, Rachel finally turned her cold gaze to the hand still resting on her shoulder. “Are you addicted to hugging me now?”
With a smile, George reluctantly let go of her, the amusement still evident in his eyes, though he couldn’t hide the contentment in his voice.
“Rachel, after all I’ve done for you, is this how you treat your savior?”
“Savior?” Rachel shot him a glance. “You think I couldn’t have gotten away from Gracie without you? Funny
Gracie was nothing more than a nuisance to her.
“Why are you so angry? Did you want to go back to Rocco? Did she speak the truth? Did you come here hoping to see him? And now that I’ve stopped you, you’re upset?”
George couldn’t resist teasing her. Seeing Rachel’s frosty expression as she walked away, he followed closely behind.
“George.” Rachel couldn’t hold back anymore, her voice sharp as she turned to face him. “What’s your deal? Why are you following me around? Are you stalking me?”
“Stalking? Of course not. George laughed, clearly unbothered by her words. “You didn’t know? Elysium Media has already signed an investment agreement with me. The Fox Group is now the second–largest investor in Elysium Media.

Rachel froze.
“What?” Her mind raced as she processed the news. She had just signed a contract with Elysium Media this morning, so how could The Fox Group be involved?
Her eyes flickered with realization.
She thought, ‘Could Braylen have secretly orchestrated this behind her back, signing a deal with the Fox Group without informing her?‘
She suddenly remembered that the contract hadn’t explicitly stated that The Sarrattop Group was the sole investor. There had been no clause to prevent future investors from coming in.
It was meant to leave room for growth, but it had also created an opportunity for George to slip in.
Rachel’s face darkened as she looked at George, whose smug expression only made her want to slap it off his face.
George, watching the change in her expression, couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. After all the chaos she had caused in his life, this moment felt like sweet revenge.
Rachel gave him one last withering glare before walking off.
George smirked, just as his phone buzzed with a call from Callie.
“George, has the deal been finalized yet?” Callie asked.
“Yes,” George replied, his tone light, almost carefree.
Callie’s voice brightened. “That’s great news. Looks like Braylen hasn’t forgotten about the Nunez family after all.” “When are you coming home? To celebrate, I’m thinking of making something special for you.”
George’s expression shifted slightly. “We didn’t take Elysium Media from The Sarrattop Group, Callie. We’re the second- largest investor. The Sarrattop Group is still the main investor, and our relationship is more like a partnership.”
“What?” Callie’s voice was filled with surprise. “So, you’re not rivals?”
“No, not exactly,” George replied, his tone calm but tinged with something darker. “We’re partners, but The Fox Group is now officially the second investor. That said, working with The Sarrattop Group is crucial for us right now, so we’ve agreed
to it.”
Callie was stunned, but she tried to suppress the growing unease in her chest. “I get it. As long as I can help you, I’m happy.”
After hanging up, Callie couldn’t shake the feeling of frustration.
Meanwhile, Rachel’s mind was racing as she dialed Herb’s number.
“The Fox Group is the second investor now? Braylen’s playing us, isn’t he?”
Rachel exhaled deeply. “He must have figured it out. He probably knew that the scandal we leaked was intentional. Anyone would feel a little off balance after that.”
“But The Sarrattop Group isn’t so easily fooled,” Herb said, the sound of his knuckles cracking over the phone.
“It doesn’t matter. The Fox Group is only the second investor. We’re still in control, and they’re beneath us. If we want to make George miserable, we can. It won’t be hard to get him to back off.”
Herb paused, then a thoughtful tone crept into his voice. “So, you mean…

“George wants to be our subordinate, whether he realizes it or not. Just throw him a bone, and he’ll be begging to do whatever we want,” Rachel replied coldly.
Herb chuckled, finally relaxing. “You’re right. He’ll regret pushing himself into this mess.”
The scene shifted as filming resumed. From across the set, Rachel noticed George quietly watching her. When their eyes met, Rocco, standing nearby, couldn’t help but glance over.

Gracie immediately spotted Rocco’s gaze and, frowning, turned to glare at Rachel. “Hey, isn’t that the guy you’re married to? Why aren’t you two together anymore?”
