George turned around and snapped, “You’re not any better, what’s so funny about
Rachel grinned, “Oh, it’s not the same at all. I’m not afraid of anything, You, on the other hand, are so picky. You can’t handle the slightest mess how does it feel to be here now? Feeling uncomfortable yet!
“You”
George was indeed feeling unterly uncomfortable, but there was nothing to be done now. He could only hope they would find them soon.
Rachel sat at a distance, casually picking up stones and tossing them into the
One of them splashed straight into George’s face.
Already irritated, George’s anger flared. He shot up and yelled, “Rachel, was that on purpose?”
“How could it be?” Rachel said, watching the flames of fury on his lace. I really can’t stand you, but right now, we’re in this together. Why would 1 do that to you? And don’t act like I’m the only one who’s got a bad impression of you. Don’t you think I’m just as bad in your eyes?
She sighed dramatically, spreading her arms, and casually laid back on the ground, her gaze turning toward the sky.
George watched her, noticing the cold, proud way she looked up. She seemed much more relaxed since leaving him. He remembered how tightly wound she had always been back at the Fox Family house–always walking on eggshells, When had he ever seen her like this before?
“No” he muttered, his voice softening, “before, you were always someone I thought highly of. Otherwise, why would I have married you?” Rachel tied her head, surprised. Really! You didn’t marry me just because Callie looked a bit like me?
George caught the implication. Even in this, she was claiming that Callie resembled her, not the other way around. This woman really couldn’t stand losing in any detail.
“A first, yes, it was partly to piss off my family. They wouldn’t let me marry Callie, and my grandfather told me that as long as it wasn’t her. I could marry anyone. So, I figured, why not marry someone who looked like her?”
Rachel stared at him, processing his words: So, it wasn’t because he was constantly missing Callie that he had married her
“But after the impulsive decision,” George continued, “I realized you were thoughtful and caring, and you took care of me. That’s why we didn’t divorce after three years.
Rachel couldn’t help but laugh. “Should I thank you then? For your approval? Looks like all my acting wasn’t for nothing after all. I’ve ramed your recognition, huh?”
“You-“George furned, his face reddening “You’re really good at seting. Now I see it–thoughtful and obedient has nothing to do with you.”
Rachel burst into laughter again.
George was furious. “What was
was so funny?
Suddenly, Rachel’s laughter faded, and she turned to him with a thoughtful expression. “George, you know, after we split, I think we’ve talked more in the last few days than we dad in three years of marriage, hn’t that strange? Doesn’t it kind of prove that we were never really meant to be mumed
George’s chest tightened “Why did
that statement make me so uneasy? If we weren’t suited for each other, then who was she suited for? Herb Without a word, George turned his gaze away,
Rachel noticed his reaction and, propping herself up with her hands, sat up to gaze at the vast ocean. She began humming a liule tune. She thought it was pretty

Chapter 65
Rachel’s eyes sharpened.
She couldn’t hear their words clearly from a distance, but a few snatches of their conversation made her uneasy.
Suddenly, she grabbed George’s arm. Before she could say anything, she heard the voices behind her.
“Ah, you’re the ones my daughter saved, right?”
They were getting closer.
George’s gaze immediately fell on the watch in their hands.
A million–dollar Piaget watch.
Rachel and George exchanged a wary look.
“Hello, yes, thank you so much! Once we get back, we’ll be sure to send some kind of reward for your help…..
Rachel hurriedly smiled, pulling George to make a run for it. But when she turned around, she found herself face–to–face with a crowd of over a hundred people, surrounding them. Her heart sank.
George saw them too and immediately pulled Rachel behind him. Rachel glared at him, but he shot her a warning glance and held her back firmly. “What do you want? We’ve told you, we’re just ordinary fishermen…
“Ah, don’t misunderstand. You look like wealthy people to me. My daughter’s still unmarried. Why don’t you let him marry her?”
A tall, dark–skinned man smiled, but his eyes were cold, hard with malice.
Rachel’s mouth twitched. No way. Was this really happening? Were they forcing George to marry their daughter?
George seemed to have realized what was going on. He glanced at the girl, who had a bashful smile on her face, and forced a laugh. I already have a wife. I love my wife, and I don’t think I can marry your daughter”
He pulled Rachel close to him as he said it. But he’d miscalculated. The family didn’t back off. Instead, they looked at Rachel, asking coldly, “Would you be willing to let this man go! We have plenty of other men here who would be happy to take you. Of course, if you insist on him, we’re not without options. We can always make him… lose his wife.”
Rachel and George exchanged another look, both understanding the unspoken threat. They meant that if they refused, they’d take Rachel instead. “Please… George stammered, his face pale. “Alright, alright, I agree.
